I think Kate Gerbeau is the best Times Radio host. I like that she gave Diane Francis enough time to talk in depth. Too often, Times Radio invites a guest for a few minutes to provide a quick quote, without the time to give a deep and honest analysis. I like that Diane Francis talked about crying. We are often too analytical about this war and the terrible crimes Putin is responsible for. Crying is not weakness, it is communicating the appalling crimes of the current Russian regime. Not just crimes against the nation of Ukraine, but the crime of sending hundreds of thousands of Russian men to crippling injuries and death.
@retorenfer8702Ай бұрын
Very well said, couldn’t agree more with you!
@S0ulinth3machin3Ай бұрын
this conflict has been conducted is a crime against humanity in general. One man bears responsibility for starting and continuing it, but there's a brutal system behind it which needs to go. Russia had a chance to evolve (starting in 1991) and it chose the wrong path. We must never again buy Russian fossil fuels. Russia should rebuild its economy with cooperation (manufacturing and trade) - paraphrasing Ms. Francis, we need a rival, not an enemy. Right now, Russia is the enemy of humanity.

Acceptable negotiation points: - how long do russians have to get out of Ukraine before they become combatants, and the Kerch Bridge is destroyed. - how long the sanctions are in place after all russians are out of Ukraine. (years, not months) - how much the rf owes Ukraine to rebuild, over how long, and how is this enforced. - when that thing in the Kremlin will be delivered to the Hague. - what military capacity is the rf allowed to keep and the plan for their nuclear arsenal to be dismantled. - when the rf will step down from the UN security council. - target date for Ukraine's acceptance to NATO.
@DebbieGlenn-f9uАй бұрын
Ever heard of the Minsk accords or did that slip your mind
@apveeningАй бұрын
That first point overlooks the possibility of some Russians wishing to remain and become Ukrainian citizens, especially people already having lived there for multiple generations. Which country will replace ruSSia as permanent member at the UNSC? NATO's acceptance of Ukraine will largely depend upon permanent cessation of hostilities (NATO rules).
