@@raffapur4243 ahahah okay, in fact i am italian and at least the names of the italian directors are completely pronounced wrong😂 don’t know about the others! I think she mispronounced the italian names to make them easier to understand by the “international” audience of Cannes, but that was pretty stupid because if you want to understand better a name you have to hear it in the original pronounce.

i am italian (i love Monica she is an icon) but the names of the italian directors are completely pronounced wrong😂 don’t know about the others! I think she mispronounced the italian names to make them easier to understand by the “international” audience of Cannes, but that was pretty stupid because if you want to understand better a name you have to hear it in the original pronounce.

You must consider that she may be nervous in front of all those people. She has a shy personality, so it takes a lot of courage to be on that stage. She was being scrutinized immensely. For a person who speaks so many languages as she does (which is, by itself, an amazing skill that demands a lot of discipline), I find it hard to believe that she would do something as you called "stupid". Only a perfect person has the right to demand perfection from others. Foreign names are very tricky to pronounce. I am sure everybody understood what she said. You wrote, "original pronounce". It is original pronunciation, by the way. She gave a beautiful speech and was very brave and that is all that matters. It is so easy to criticize from the audience. Usually, the ones who criticize are the ones who would never have the courage to do what she did. I think she deserves all the compliments. She is a very accomplished person and it should speak for itself.

Ma cosa dici? Li ha pronunciati tutti correttamente, a parte Garrone che ha usato per sbaglio la 'r' francese. Mettendo nella lista anche i nomi dei registi italoamericani, ha citato Fellini, Scorsese, Coppola, Tornatore, Tarantino, Benigni, Moretti, Garrone, Sorrentino. Nessun errore nella pronuncia, eccetto, come dicevo, Garrone, ma non ha sbagliato l'accento.

@@StellaDallas1970 Don't believe what Francesca says. I am also Italian and I can assure you that Italian names are all pronounced correctly. The only small mistake is that she accidentally used the French 'r' when pronouncing Garrone, but only because she was speaking in French. All syllables and accents are pronounced correctly. I don't know what Francesca heard, but she's wrong.
