I'm a Cypriot. Cyprus (Kypros/Kibris) is refers to overseas trade of copper. The Island of Cyprus got it name from Cyprium it means Cyprus Metal, then it was shortened to Cuprum (Kuprum). No mention of Barnabas? Did not also mention Love lock bridge or even the caves.

I was there 25 years ago. I took a ferry from Haifa, Israel, to Cyprus and stayed there 2 weeks before taking a ferry to Greece. Then, one could cross the border for a day - 8AM to 6PM - and if one was late, there was no returning. I enjoyed my time in the south and the less than 10 hours in the north.

Wow. Nice info. We too have those Laughing Doves where I live. They look very brown colored nice birds to me. They are always in pairs, teasing each other, playing with each other. I look forward to winters to see the Laughing Doves in our neighborhood. I like those birds.

What we have to understand about Cyprus as a whole country is it was in ottoman occupation from 1571 - 1878 meaning Turkish it's only when the Greeks started street wars with the British & Turks over Eoka to claim it a Greek nation hence the British give up in 1960 & left them to it hence. The 1974 conflict which to this day it on going through land & ownership issues. Please do your research before commenting on what you don't understand 😊

No such thing as Turkish Cyprus or The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It’s not legally recognized by any country ( as you stated) other than Turkey, the Invader. There is only one Cyprus, The Republic of Cyprus

There will never be any unification. EOKA saw to that when it tried to ethnic cleanse the island of Turkish Cypriots. But that is ignored nowadays. It was that which led to the Turkish military intervention. And now the politicians play games talking about unification, when the south want total control over the island and the north wants to be left in peace. The island has been divided for close on 50 years and talks may continue for another 50 years without any conclusion.

Regarding issue No 19,it should be known that there was never any "stuggle between Greece and Macedonia". There was merely a long dispute between Greece and Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia (FYROM ) finally regognised as Republic of North Macedonia. NOT just Macedonia.

Accession to the EU in 2003 covers the whole island. The Rep.of Cyprus cannot exercise sovereignty in the North due to the Turkish occupation. Occupation and mass immigration from Anatolia is a crime against humanity as coded in International Law. The displacement by force of 200K Greeks from the North does not make the North Turkish. The lawful Turkish speaking muslims of Cyprus are a minority in the North. Most if not all have Cypriot passports and ID's and are considered EU citizens. The Cyprus dispute is not between the Cypriots (both Greek and so-called Turks). It is between Turkey and International law, Turkey and UN decisions. It is between the will of the sovereigns of this country and special interests involving the usual suspects in the area. Britain in large part and their cronies in Washington.

I am Turkish cypriot and been to north many many times , ercan airport, then crossed over to the south! i have never been accused as "illegal"! greeks do not have the balls to do so! Cyprus which was ruled by different suzerains, but which never in its entire history came under Greek rule, was conquered by the Ottomans in 1571 and ruled by them until 1878 when Turks rented the island to Biritish for 49 years...very little Turks knew, the biritish nicked the island!

The island is greek for more than 3000 years, and this video didn't mention the greek cities of Salamis or Kourion, perhaps the most important archeological sites of the island.. Greek has been majority ethnicity and ruled by Greeks far before the ottomans existed. Even by the end of the ottoman empire that they tried ethnic cleansing, the majority remained greek. It was never Turkey, and the northen area, is rightfully accepted by the UN as part of the Republic of Cyprus, the only legitimate authority of the island.
