My grandfather used to take me round the engine shed at Prescott street in Wigan in the early 60's so it's the Super D for me ! Great video, thanks.

The sheer size of them is amazing. I did a clip of me walking near them to show just how big. I looked so small, and I'm 6ft.

Great film👍.It's superb to see all the everyday, working items are being looked after, not just the 'divas'. I believe one of the MGR's is the prototype, which worked many years carrying coal to the power stations. It did cause confusion, when its axle weight was different to all the other wagons in the train. So the the railway was very happy to give it away.
