Luckily that’s not something we experienced!! The only disappointment was there were no pina coladas due to a coconut shortage 🥥

Which building would you recommend? I am travelling here with my spouse & 2 kids (2 & 7) in December. We have booked a sea view room. From looking at the resort map, Building 26 seems ideally located. Its close to the pools & beach, so its easier to reserve chairs in the morning; however, it is a bit of a walk to the lobby & buffet.

I would recommend building 26 as it is SUPER close to both the pools and beach (not to mention the picturesque views). Yes it is further from the restaurants and main lobby, but there are carts passing by to give you a lift. With kids I think this would be easier in case you forgot say sunscreen or a ball in the room. *also there is no need to reserve chairs in the morning, I was not exaggerating when I mentioned this in the video. There are always free chairs around the main pool. At first, my mom and I were placed in building 23. It was very close to the restaurants and lobby but because we wanted to be closer to the “action” we requested to change rooms. No regrets ;) Have an amazing trip with your family 💕

@@ExploringwithLeanne Thank you for your detailed reply. My entire family, including the kids enthusiastically watched your video. We have a few more questions and hope you can answer them. SHADE: I mentioned reserving chairs because I read a review on trip advisor that said chairs in the shade get taken fast so its best to reserve them early in the morning. Do most chairs by the pool have shade (umbrella/trees)l? BEACH VENDORS: Does the beach have vendors selling good and services like souvenirs, massages, hair braiding, motorized water activities, etc.? CURRENCY: What currency did you use for tipping and purchases? Last time my family went to Cuba (Cayo Coco), we used Canadian cash for tipping and US cash for purchases off resort.

Great questions! 1. We didn’t have problems finding chairs in the shade. But the time of year could affect this, so you will get a feel how busy the resort is upon arrival. There are umbrellas, pergolas and huts with beds around the pool. At the beach there are also small umbrellas which due to the size don’t provide much shade. We saw some being created out of palm leaves! They are pretty but more decorative I would say. 2. At the larger (further) beach during the beginning of the stay there were a few people doing hair braiding in the trees. This however, was not consistent as there were people (guards I think) in uniform who began walking around. No beach vendors or booths like you might find in Punta Cana for example. There were a few organized tables the popped up outside the main buffet twice during our stay for buying souvenirs or handmade artwork. 3. I’m glad you brought up money! For tips, American dollars are accepted or Canadian BILLS. I would recommend bringing extra Canadian bills to exchange with the staff. They cannot use Canadian coins to buy anything in Cuba, so if they get tips in coins they must exchange with foreigners (resort visitors) for bills. For excursions, they only accept credit cards now. Some excursions include water activities such as scuba diving, seeing dolphins or horseback riding (in the beach waves!). Hope this helps 😉
