I've had my Sienna since 2021. I bought it as it was being delivered to the dealership. I had a 2021 Highlander, and it didn't suit me. I get 37.8 MPG always on my daily trips and 38.6 on vacation. I have it loaded from front to back for a two week vacation. I wouldn't trade this car for anyone on the market. ❤

Man, this is the kind of review the people need. Real experience from a dad, not a dealer. I don’t own one yet, but I’m surprised at your mileage. I’ve heard other owners say that they often get 40mpg, but perhaps it’s a driving style difference. I’m really curious what you think about noise driving in stop and go traffic. We rented a Sienna and driving through the neighborhood, the start/stop at stop signs was kind of annoying. I’ve seen other reviews that test road noise at highway speeds but this doesn’t seem to be covered anywhere.
@kevin-luАй бұрын
It’s definitely driving style for the mpg. Now I usually get about 30-35mpg. I do notice I get better mpg when I drive versus my wife’s style 😅. I notice the same thing when I rented cars in the past but oddly not sure it’s because of the hybrid model I don’t notice the start/stop as much. Either that or I’ve gotten used to it. Road noise is an issue though. The XSE apparently has the worse. For me it’s less of road noise but more of it seems like a window isn’t fully closed or something.
@spiderman63754Ай бұрын
@@kevin-lu Thanks for the response! I think I’d see similar results between and the wife driving. My truck (2022 Ram 1500) has start stop but it’s a different type of system and not very intrusive at all. But like you said, maybe it’s just something you get used to. Which trim level do you have? I heard that some higher trims have special glass but not sure which ones.

3:17 We're still on the market for a minivan, and something we didn't like about the Sienna is how there's 1-2 fewer inches of headroom getting in to the second row from the part of the ceiling that dips down. It's tough for gas savings for a Sienna to really add up compared to a cheaper V6 minivan. For our driving, we'd save at most $500-750 per year, but if we're spending $5000-10000 more per year upfront, interest on $10000 per year would approximately pay for the difference. So the hybrid benefit would be greater if someone were willing to pay more to be kinder to the environment.

Thank you so much Kevin for this video!! :) We just purchased a Sienna 2021 Hybrid with 32,000 miles!! We were so fortunate Carmax reports it was a lease, always got oil and filters plus checks at the toyota dealership and its literally new!! Impecable!! We negotiated so much!! We walked away and all. Two days later dealer accepted our deal and then we disclosed that we were giving $10000 down!! We are so thankful!! Best deal for our growing family. We have 3 year old and 8 months baby. So worth it!! Was previously driving a Nissan Rogue 2019 AWD but we needed room and space!! So excited to start using it for our future road trips!! 😎😇

@ammyreyes19105 ай бұрын
@@Tina-kf8kk Never go alone first tip. We typically always call ahead and asks to be emailed the “out the door price.” If the dealer is not willing to do that we go to the next dealership. Often times when u get there what got emailed to u is cheaper. never paid for unnecessary fees like “deep wash” etc. Be very careful with watching they do not sneak any hidden fees. I would say used your total cash down for ur advantage. Like if if you are giving $5000 down, when you r doing ur counter offers used it little by little. Like say $2000 first then increased while u r negotiating. try to go at the end of the month when they are trying to meet quotas. And always be ready and willing to walk out. For us its highly important to stay within budget and not financing for more than 4 years. Have your priorities straight and math. hope these tips help

We just bought the Sienna XLE yesterday. May I ask….. I know it has to be cord connected to use Apple car play. But if it is wireless, isn’t it a bit glitchy or lags some? That’s at least what our car salesman said.
@kevin-lu29 күн бұрын
The only glitch is sometimes it doesn't connect. In my 10 months of owning the car and getting wireless dongle day 2 I would say it's happened to me maybe 3-5 times. In cases like that I had to unplug my 3rd party wireless adapter. For the cars I've rented in the past with wireless car play didn't run into this issue, but then again only drove those rental cars 4 - 7 days. I haven't seen any lag differences between plugging and wireless for any of the features. Also hard to tell if there's audio lag since you can't compare plugging in and wireless side by side.

@alexmassengale4336 ай бұрын
Is the timing belt that big a deal? In my area all the Toyotas are on big markups while the Hondas are on discount. Even with gas prices and a timing belt change, you may never make up that initial cost difference. An Odyssey Elite can be had for something like $10 grand less than a Sienna Platinum and a base Odyssey about $8 grand cheaper than what dealers are actually selling an LE Sienna for.
@pedropuckerstein46706 ай бұрын
Depends on your pov. I also have 3 Hondas, just had the valves adjusted on my 4cyl accord. Do what feels comfortable for your needs. In warm weather in nj I get over 42 MPG with Sienna hybrid. @alexmassengale4336 ай бұрын
@@kevin-lu I really wish they let you do 8 seats in all trims for a people mover. Honda and Kia have 8 seat options for top trims. For my family the two place middle seat just doesn't work well. It is a bummer because I like to get lots of features and otherwise this car in limited trim would be perfect (presuming you could find one without a big markup). Hopefully for 2025 they fix that. A removable middle seat seems like the perfect way to do it for a minivan.

My biggest complaint is that the sienna is stuck on Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. TSS 3.0 is leaps and bounds superior. Even the 2025 refresh is still 2.0 and it shows that Safety updates are not a priority for Toyota. 2.5 would have been nice. @h20g1rl66 ай бұрын
Just bought a Sienna Limited BECAUSE it was only one of three seats that ‘fit’ me. Other seats either had thigh bolsters that made my SI joints move (I have very loose joints & use a cushion my PT gave me to lift up a bit so bolsters don’t squish me) or did not allow me to site with 90 degrees at knees & hips (I have to tilt seat back a little but it works.) The other two seats were from the Ford 150 Platinum (excellent seat!) and Ford Explorer (it was a higher trim level), but I don’t want a truck & the Explorer’s windshield is set in a way that I felt like I was wearing a hat & couldn’t see as much road as I can in the Sienna. I went to 13 dealerships & only 3 vehicles were comfortable. My husband thinks both the front seats and the captains chairs middle row are very comfortable… and we love that the front seats both heat and can cool. I’m 5’10” & husband is 6’2”.
