Congrats! I ride a 2020 Super Duke R and it's a great bike. Change the clutch slave cylinder to Sigutech or similar aftermarket. I got stranded because the clutch slave seals go bad after a while. If you wait too long the brake fluid from the clutch can get into the engine oil and damage bearings.

ktm should have made a recall on ALL the 790/890 engines for cam failure prevention, yet they blame it on everything else rather than the wrongly machined oil passages for the oil squirters at the head. Oil flow is not directed properly for the sufficient lubrication of cams and they are guaranteed to fail at one point. Real companies that care about the customers and gheir reputation take the hard way of seallowing the pill and make a recall. Ktm on the other hand blame it on eveything else rather than themselves. We all saw that coming, im sure they did too. Hope they get above this mess and overcome the financial struggle and offer some great products for the market in the future
@JochenThe111 күн бұрын
@@rockys777 Agree, there is an nice Video from UK where an 790 engine (from 2021?) was disassembled and you clearly can see the off-center oil distribution drilling for the nozzle that shall spill the camshaft with oil. KTM has been getting so much hate. Can’t stand hearing everyone talk about how the company should be ran, When they don’t have one themselves. They took a gamble during the lockdowns and it didn’t pay off, And the lockdowns hurt their business like everyone. This is major over exaggeration Of reliability And quality, They go on and on about the 790, I have one and I can’t find the problems they’re talking about Did research and out of 300,000 parallel twin engines made, 0.4% were reported with an issue, That’s really good quality compared to other European manufacturers, And I mean, really like what company was perfect from start to finish, One of the biggest European manufacturers, I’m sure they know what they’re doing, This is a very professional company that loves their machines. I can guarantee it. Have some faith & stop hating.🧡

It's not just the 790 and it's not just the camshaft issue. The 790 also pisses out coolant from the thermostat housing. Everyone knows this. KTM changed the parts later. I have three 2020 KTM's in my garage right now. And I got stranded on two of them and the third is sitting in a puddle of coolant. They are awesome bikes, but quality is a big issue.

Senior management lost their way with out of control costs for Moto GP, Motocross, Supercross, Dakar Rally, MV Agusta acquisition, new California building. Poor forecasting for motorcycle demand, slumping discretionary spending in the US for motorized toys. Added to that, confusing multiple brands & poor quality control. Topping it off, charging premium prices for Chinese & Indian sourcing. KTM has a VERY steep ladder to climb. I feel sorry for their employees & their families & wish them well. I hope KTM can recover!!

So you need a video on THAT subject: your chocolate camshafts! And SURVEY your public on WHAT they want, that is the BASIC of marketing...and you are almost bankrupt but your prices have not changed 1 euro!???? Somebody has some fixed ideas somewhere...use PR to come clean on your camshaft issue...be honest with your future customers...make statements with the whole truth...restore the trust of the people in your brand, this is the only way....Best, Olivier, Belgium
