If you like the Portuguese island of Madeira, you will definitely enjoy some of the AZORES islands of Portugal, also. My favorite town, a UNESCO Heritage Site, is on the sprawling volcanic island of Terceira. Each town has a church, some street corners have little chapels too! As you explore the narrow streets toward the sea, one can stop by Angra do Herismo's restaurant and enjoy a Seafood Fish Stew (served by a waiter)! My last experience on Terceira was: While stopping at a cliffside facing the Atlantic Ocean, I smelled fresh MINT! As the ocean breezes brushed past my face, I searched. There, between the green grasses, were patches of MINT! That sensory moment was one of the best Joy of my Septuagenarian years!!! Thanks for Madeira island and it's 🌈 rainbows!

@ I have 3 homes. South Florida, South Texas, and Costa Rica. Our version of warm and tropical is 80-95 degrees year round. We see winter maybe every 5 years at about 50 degrees. It's usually warm 364 days a week. 72 is borderline cold. That place looks beautiful regardless. A bit too far up the northern hemisphere for me though. I like staying close to the equator. Lots of WARM rain and ocean, beautiful animals, and sea life.
