GREAT upload!! Big EPMD fan here...I have all their studio albums and Erick and Parish solo projects...Listening to this brings back SO many good memories and a smile to my face. When you listen to music like this, you can tell how much this younger generation just does not get it. No concept on who paved the way or the creativity involved. We need to put ALL these young artists music in a separate category just labelled "CRAP" not "RAP"

That song "Can't Hear Nothing But the Music" samples the infamous Skull Snaps' 1973 song "It's a New Day" drum break as much as as Erick Sermon has and I wonder if he did to get back at Daddy-O, who is credited with finding the legendary break and being the first to use it on the classic Stezo song - "It's My Turn". E also used that same "It's a New Day" drums on "Head Banger (Remix Radio Edit)", "Hittin' Switches", "Imma Getz Mine," "The Ill S---" (feat. Kam and Ice Cube), "Stay Real (Remix)," Das EFX used for "Mic Checka", "Mic Checka (Remix)", "East Coast", "Straight Out the Sever" (although those were produced by Solid Scheme, E was an executive producer on the Dead Serious LP), "Gimmie Dat Microphone", "Host Wit Da Most (Rappaz Remix)", "Baknaffek (E-A-Ski/CMT Remix)", Redman for "Watch Yo Nuggets", Shaquille O'Neal for "Boom!" (feat. Fu Schnickens), Hurricane G for "G-Milky" (Unreleased), Illegal for "Head or Gut", Lords of the Underground for "What I'm After", Cookin' Soul for "Funkorama" and Method Man for "Checka" (feat. Redman) and "Problem". Other samples used on "Can't Hear Nothing But the Music" included Barbara Mason's soulful voice "oohhhh baby" and strings from her 1972 song "Give Me Your Love". They also used a small sample from Curtis Mayfield's original 1972 version, the often used "School Boy Crush" by Average White Band from 1975, there is some incredible compression on this track and everything just sounds timeless, and of course the infamous Kool and the Gang's 1973 song "Jungle Boogie".
