Crieff was Scotland's largest cattle market with 'Trysts' held during the 17th century and over 30,000 head being sold annually.
The town was rebuilt by the Duke of Perth in 1731 who resided at nearby Drummond Castle.
Nearby set deep in rural farmland is Innerpeffray library - the oldest free lending library in the country with many rare volumes.
The Actor Ewan MacGregor was born in the town.
