Bonjour An et Jeff! Mont Saint Michel is indeed a magical place and I have been fortunate to have visited the abbey and the village several times on my own and with students. I am fairly certain that the people walking in the bay at low tide generally have a guide and might very well be on a pilgrimage which has been happening at Mont Saint Michel since the beginning. Thank you for sharing your beautiful video and I hope to go back very soon! A la prochaine!

We don't own a car. We rented a car in Cherbourg. We mentioned that in an earlier video, about Barfleur "Mornings", when we first arrived in the Normandy area, by train.

Love this video! Thanks for sharing. Mont St.-Michel is on our bucket list. Like you, we like to travel with our dogs, & while MSM allows dogs, from your video it doesn’t look very dog friendly. Our dogs are bigger so they can’t be carried like Bella, too. Thinking we’d have to make other arrangements for the pups when we visit. Would you agree?

No, you can bring your dog, but you may have to walk from the parking lot all the way to the island. They won't let dogs on the shuttle bus but if it's a nice day, I'd say it's maybe a couple of miles, from the parking lot, at least where we parked. Maybe you can park a little bit closer. We intentionally picked the lot that was near where the shuttle bus picks people up. But there were a number of dogs there. Oh, and they don't allow dogs in the Abbey, which was disappointing. So you might have to take turns going in, with one of you staying with the dog. I offered to let Jeff go inside and walk around after I returned, thinking he's an architect, he'd probably really enjoy this, but he said no, he'd see it on the video.

The mud is like quicksand. Groups are taken out and shown how to get out if you sink into it

Have you done this? We saw lots of tour groups out there.

I added that one song that was in the background throughout most of my walk around the abbey. The name is in the info below my video, all the way at the bottom, where it says "music".

Forgot to ask….heard that Nice has flooding, hope you are okay😢
@postcardsfromourgoldenyears15 күн бұрын
There was no heavy rain or flooding in central Nice. Only the parts of Nice, away from the city, where most of us live, had some flooding. We barely had rain, in fact. And when it did rain, it was just light rain.
