I have both premier pro and davinci and i bought the pro version of cinema grade for both platforms wanting it for the pro features and not realising the group shots, shot matching and grade match only worked on premier pro 😮 i only like using davinci now so wont switch back even to use those amazing features hahha

I feel you that's the problem with the BackMagic API they're not allowing that. It's a bit back and forward with the clip matching, but it works well when correcting footage fast and creating power grades. I am also not switching back DR is the best haha

Of course, you don't have to apply an input LUT. You can also just color grade normal footage. That's why I do a lot, as it is superfast way to do it. Click and slide :-D

yo dude this video is amazing you made it so easz to understand the graphs. You litteraly explainig it in simple language or others to understand ! i alwazs get so lost about those graphs and the colors ect and what they mean! definitely make another video like that with the histogram! never knew that with the colors you had to make sure its more in the middle and what it means when one is higher up then the other !

Hi Mark, I just bought Cinema Grade (enhance) but don't know how to apply it in DeVinci Resolve, how to install it into DeVince, then you will be able to see your video timeline at 2:03, I didn't see Cinema Grade, so could tell me how to apply Cinema Grade into DeVinci?

Hey did you bought the version for Davinci ? If yes, easy install the .dmg and the plugin will get installed into Davinci Resolve automatically. Remember to close and open DR after installing. Another check if it is installed would be going to DR preferences -> then by System on Video Plugins and you should see Cinema Grade plugin there ;-) Let me know if it worked

@@amazingchannel2023 Ah then you should see it in Davinci if you see the red dots this means the plug in is applied but the license is not active. Go to the menu File or Help then Activate and copy in your activation code. Do you see the plugin in the settings I mentioned before or the color page ?

Ja danke dir Marcel, ging mir vor 5 Jahren auch so. Deswegen bin ich nach Australien gemacht, um nur noch Englisch sprechen zu müssen. Alles andere hat bei mir nicht wirklich funktioniert. Am besten alle Geräte auf Englisch umstellen und Englisch sprechen und was du nicht weißt Übersetzer nutzen. :-D Das dauert alles auch

Ahhh, the perfect video considering that I'm also using Davinci. It's literally what I struggled with for creating the last video. I didn't know how to create the power grade and apply it to all clips. Thanks for the information. Now I know how to better use it for the next one.

You can slow down the video speed and if you want to learn more in depth about CG check my other video about it. There I explain it more. About the Timeline Color Space you can set it to Rec709-A. I know the color management in davinci resolve is a bit overwhelming in the beginning.

Hi there, just heard about this and thought I'd see what it's all about. I can't wrap my head around why there would be a need to open a plugin from the Davinci color page to do color grading outside of Davinci Resolve's formidable color grading tools (Is it "ease of use" or something else?). Hey thanks for your comment and feedback 😉 YES it sound unnecessary but a lot of people don’t know how to use all the wheels and slider in DaVinci or it’s to complex for them right. So CinemaGrade is a easy point click and slide plugin. If you see the sky is to blue and dark you want to click and slide up and down to adjust the brightness and saturation. That’s why it’s so easy to use CinemaGrade for beginner as well advanced people there want a quick grade and results. Let’s say low paying client. If you are an experienced colorist then it’s only makes sense you want to save time. Basically its a shortcut if you see you want to change something quickly without building a node tree, select and mask the color to change. It’s just click and slide done. Hope it help you to understand why there created Cinema Grade. For premier pro I would say it’s the best for Davinci depends on your skills and time you want spend grading 😀

Great video, I just downloaded Davinci 18 Free version and tried loading Cinema Grade to the footage but I get these little red and green grid dots and cannot seem to turn them off, I followed your tutorial but these little dots come either way I load the plugin and they export into the video when it's exported, not sure why, maybe you can explain how to fix that as I'm sure if I'm seeing this, others may see it too?

Thanks for your feedback 😉 The dots Signal you have the free version of Cinema Grade you either need to buy a license or activate your license. You have to go in the menu then help and activate it there. Or it was on the left side in the menu bar. This should solve all. Let me know if it worked 😉

@@MaikKleinert thank you for your reply, I activated it and it still had the dots, what it was I needed to upgrade to the DaVinci host as my version was for Premiere Pro (and I had forgotten about that) the upgrade is inexpensive at $29 and now can use on all hosts... Depends on what you are shooting. If you use FilmMic Pro then use their correction LUT if you just record with no picture profile then you don't need to add any input LUT. Only when shooting in log profile.

Would you recommend Davinci over Premiere for this grading workflow? I have both programs and am making a decision on which to finally use (i have much more experience in Premiere, but im enjoying learning Davinci). However, i absolutely hate the grading in Davinci as I find it an incredibly slow workflow (probably my own fault).

Feel you man, it took me also a while to switch to DaVinci. After 1 1/2 year now. I am better, faster and more efficient in Davinci and Premiere for me is to expensive, not reliable and waste of time for me now. Take your time to learn the Programm and with CinemaGrade it makes it easier with the fast grading. I switched fully as I saw the speed 5-10x with my MacMini and MacBook in performance. Hope I could help you ;)

About the middle mouse button not sure what you mean its depends which short cut you have in there. I grade one clip then mark all the other and say apply grading to all clips. Thats the fastes way in my view.

This would work yes but not for all the separate clips it more like a master preset for all clips. If you need to edit each clip then you have to apply cinema grade to every clip

Just installed Cinema Grade it and its not working in DR Studio 18 on M1 Mac. Can adjust the grade but it does not apply it in DR. This KZbin video was done 10 months ago. Curious if your on Studio 18?

Yes I still use it as well in Studio 18. You need to click apply at the cinema grade app then in Davinci in the color tap at the cinema grade plug in you need to also click apply again. If not text me on IG @maikkleinert

So my question is, are plugins just like software and perhaps these free plugins are cracked? Or are they safe and cannot be a threat to my computer?

All good mate, yes there are free or cracked versions out thats normal and safe not really. Check out the website CinemaGrade there have a free version and if you like it you can updated to pro. You can also use my 20% discount code to safe more money. The time you safe with the plugin is the money work it. Its not a subscription or so

I have a question for you.. I cannot get my clips to appear in the Cinema Grade timeline at all. I have gone to several projects and not one clip will appear in the timeline. The Cinema Grade app opens like it should but it is just always blank. Have you experienced this? Thanks

You can"t see all the clips in cinema grade. If you apple the plugin into a nodes then the open it via effect and CG opens but what you mean with blank? Black screen ? Text me on IG @maikkleinert

Do you mean the playback fps ? If so that’s normal as it’s depends on your computer power you can use proxy or reduce the timeline resolution. Let me know if this helps for you?

I usually edit everything and at the end I do the color grading and effects and render it. If you grade first then it slows down the whole editing process.😊

@@MaikKleinert I saw it work in many other videos as well but dont know whats wrong on my side. I am on windows and I checked again and found strange behavior, dragging is working using mouse but I was trying with the wacom pen, the reason why I couldn't get even the mouse to work is that the moment I touch the viewer with pen it makes it undraggable for mouse too, so if I open the panel and use mouse only then it works but again only a touch of pen would not let the mouse or pen drag it anymore.

​@@FaizanShakeelKhan Then this is an entirely different story. Make sure your Wacom settings are correct. Clicking and moving up and down might be possible if there is an option to do so. Because you have to click and hold at a spot before going up and down. It may be necessary to press the button on the pen first, then move up or down.

@@MaikKleinert ja klar, ich hab das im zuge des black fridays gekauft und hab festgestellt, dass es für mich einfach wie verarsche anfühlt. warum? weil dieses click and point feature einfach nix anderes is als auch per farbe die parameter zu verändern. ich hab mehrmals versucht durch dieses feature zb den himmel oder auch die haut zu verändern aber der nimmt einfach alles mit was zu selben fabpalette gehört und nur exakt die farbe auf der man im gesicht zufällig geklickt hat. besser wäre es wenn das plugin das gesicht erkennt oder auch den himmel. auch eine log transformation ist nicht integriert, muss man alles selber machen.. daher mein rat an alle spart euch das plugin und kauft euch lieber dehancer lite ist etwas teurer aber auch 100 mal besser.

@@o0OmrmusicO0o Das doch Unsinn es funktioniert, da ich es sogar im Video zeige. Schade das es bei dir nicht klappte vielleicht lag das daran das der Weißabgleich nicht stimmte. Bei Skintone muss man sowieso mit Masken arbeiten. Man kann mit den Slider den Himmel blauer machen, Helligkeit ändern oder die HUE Farbe ändern. Wegen log transformation kannst du auch machen. Nur in Davinci Resolve sollte man es davor machen oder benutzt das Hersteller transform lut von der Kamera und addes das. Blackmagic lässt plugins das nicht zu soweit ich das auch von Denver erfahren habe. Dehancer ist ein gutes plugin aber es ist ein Film Emulations plugin kein Color Correction oder Grading.Wenn du die Pro kaufen willst kannst 10% mit "MAIK" sparen ;-) Ansonsten freut es mich wenn du eine Lösung gefunden hast.

@@MaikKleinert also bei mir geht es nicht.. und ich kann auch ohne dieses tool color graden.. aber ich hab mir echt was anderes erhofft. vllt liegt es auch daran, dass ich die windows version habe. ich habe gedacht ich mach etwas falsch und hab dann nach videos gesucht und deins gefunden und auch selbst nach dem ich quasi schritt für schritt das so gemacht habe wie bei dir im video war der himmel extrem schlecht ausgwählt, da bringt mir point and drag dann auch nix wenn ich vorher alles in davinci maskieren muss

software is unstable, unreliable and has little to no tech support you're better off using the stock controls.
