Constructed between 1625 and 1636 by Manchu emperor Nurhachi and his son, Huang Taiji, the palace served as the residence of the Qing dynasty rulers until 1644. the perchasing power parity per capita is very high. the people are generally wealthy compared to the prices, making the city rank first in luxury goods consumption in the nation. this is largely attributed to the early leading industrial development and command economy. the physically environment especially the cool weather and the mature infrastructures makes it very comfortable to live in. ive lived in many cities both inside and out of china, and yet shenyang remains what i personally consider as the best city to live in. the city also is one of the top five cities with the highest literacy rate. and most shockingly, shenyang has barely had any further development since the 90s. these traits shape the people of shenyang into a kind of humourous, passionate and extroverted personality.
