Enjoyed the video! Hint: Anytime you see large rocks, take careful observation of the shape of the rock, ask yourself if it looks like any kind of animal. Consider ancient religions, what creatures did they worship? Also, check your compass and see what direction things are facing, see if you notice any patterns.

Thanks for the hike. I’ll check the eight or so huge rocks for petroglyphs and let you know. It’s 40 acres, known by some Indian name like arrowhead valley. I don’t know, locals told me this and said to check my creek. You do need a gun, not for animals though…. You seamed close to the official trail, of which I am not. No weed smoking by me, unless by me…

@@sportercus for sure it’s always worth checking bc you never know! A few tips .. days when it is bright and dry you sometimes can’t see them even with a trained eye . The best times to look are rainy , over cast days or at night utilizing side lighting and shadows . Let me know how it goes .

@@sportercus I prefer being away from the official trail but for petroglyphs they tend to be nearby to the trails bc the natives would be attracted to and congregate around the same areas that we found beautiful enough to make these trails and parks in . You tend to find petroglyphs around places people still congregate today . Think waterfalls , streams, beautiful views and also natural springs . Also places the early settlers places mills with water wheels for some reason .
@DeAThWisH112Ай бұрын
@@sportercus one more place is rock shelters and overhangs where they could have found shelter from the elements to spend the night in . A good sign is black on the ceiling bc it could be from camp fires

@@ARichardPartridge I know bears are powerful apex predators that are to be respected and potentially dangerous at times but In a situation where it’s just me , my razor sharp Bowie and the strong aversion I have to being chewed up while I’m fully conscious , I promise that bear is going to end up paying far more for that meal than he was expecting even if he wins . I’m not even going to pretend I could have a chance fighting off any other bear species on earth but in regard to the black bears here in the mountains of the Carolinas specifically, I am fairly confident that while yes it will likely be a very bad and very painful experience …. I’ll still walk away from it on my own two feet . I’m not naive enough to not understand that I may in fact be yet another victim hiding behind the shield of a false sense of security considering I have no experience in black bear death matches as of yet but I honestly believe at the end of the day that bears day will be a whole lot worse than mine whether there is any truth to it or not .

@DeAThWisH112 nah man, I wasn't harping on ya. It was just funny. Plus, I fully believe, with utmost respect to their power, that it's very possible to go up against a black bear and come out on top. Firm believer in the color rule, if it's brown, lay down, if it's black, fight back, if it's white, kiss your a$$ good night.
