I loved that. That platform is a beauty. The bit that really struck a chord was the walkway up to the platform, imagine the folk walking up there

My Dad and Auntie were born at Burdale Station in the 1920s. Their Dad was the Station Master. I love imagining them playing round there!

I can just imagine many years ago people standing there on a cold dark rainy winters day seeing the lights of the train heading slowly towards them . Amazing find 👍🏻

Isn't it fantastic when you find something that you hadn't realised was there, I woke up this morning to find a six foot blonde bird in the bed beside me, that was fantastic!!!!! Unfortunately The Wife wasn't best pleased🤣. Seriously, that was an excellent video, it's not too far from me so next winter when the weeds die back it's on my to do list.

Happy days 🥳. Nice find 👍. It is such a shame to think it'll all be buried at some point in the not too distant future. It makes me wonder what's really beneath our feet 🤔

Thank you. I think there is a lot beneath our feet that we don’t know/are not told about. A lot of it hidden in plain site!

Loved it, love your enthusiasm, as a brick collector, nice to see you focusing on them, each tell a story, where they came from, a search will give you rough dates too.

Great to see you around our neck of the woods. If your back this way your more than welcome to visit East Yorkshires only heritage railway at Fimber, the Yorkshire Wolds Railway, a couple of miles the other side of the tunnel. Look forward to seeing you 👍🏼

Just come across your channel. There wasn't a signal box at Burdale station, apart from the boxes at Driffield and Malton the only one was at Sledmere Fimber, all the other signalling was controlled by ground frames. Really interesting video, thank you, I'll have to watch some of your others. Burdale Quarry closed in the mid 50s, I can't remember the exact date off the top of my head, and it was the quarry closing that effectively caused the lines closure as traffic dwindled to very little

Thank you. My intention here, was to actually get in the tunnel, but shortly after looking at the station, I got caught by the landowner lol! Thanks for watching.

@@LeiceExplore It is a shame, though the other problem with heading towards Malton from where we are is there is 2 roads to cross before you get anywhere, which is the main reason why we are heading towards Wetwang.
