@@knechtgottes9109 This is a feminine dancer, they're just very thin and structured. Also, if you're going to judge like this, you don't belong on the internet. Everyone's journey in life is different, and if you're going to be hateful towards someone like a transgender or crossdressing individual, then you're going to lead a sad, miserable life. I hope, for your sake, that you learn to open your heart to everyone, and not just those you consider "normal", you'll find a lot more happiness in your life.

Now to why I came to ask a question not of the court year but the room above that the staircase leads into. It is a screened room, how does that work with an open stair well? An architecture questions.

The most powerful dance I’ve ever seen. I have no words for it. All I will say is Kali Maa came through in this dance. Kali Maa was here. She guided the movements and felt so much joy here that you can see Maa in the dancer’s expression, gestures, and moves. Maa was here. Wow, I have no other words. This is pure bliss.

As long as I know, Kali symbolize the duality of love. Devotion and rage. Devoted to the one she loves most but also full of rage to the one who hurt her. Such a beautiful and divine dance, I feel like this dance or form of art is not meant to be just only a dance but a worship. Forgive me if I'm wrong... ❤️

@@ishitasingh6214 ma’am. Please I am divinely interested in the story this dance was telling. I know a little of my studies of Hinduism. I have seen Kali many times in her portrait with her tongue out, a dismembered head In one of her hands, and her husband underneath her…. But this woman in the beginning of her dance seemed to be dressing someone in deep pride. I would love to understand as best as an American could. I would also like to translate the song if I could…. If you have the time to share any resources that I could research it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and dance?

The dancer looks like she has transcended to another realm. She feels what she is dancing. Almost becoming one with her art form. She no longer feels her body and mind. Some sort of divinity has taken over. This level of perfection comes with devotion not just practice alone.

The camera did an amazing job! Often times performers do their best but the camera doesnt understand the world of dance specifically. As dancers we dance with the elements in us and especially air becomes our companian in the dance, what the camera understood was how to move intuitively like the wind capturing the magic of the dancers spirit and respect all the elements, spirits and energies within and around. @Mahi Abhi in the early most part of the dance, the artist prays. Like offering offerings to a statute and giving eye to the statue of the God ( when clay statues are made here in India for worship, after being perfected and dressed up, the master painter does the last thing. He draws the eyes. It symbolises giving the deity vision and life). Here, according to me, the dancer brings life to her imaginary statue of Devi to see her devotion.

I'm not an expert, but I think in order to become a traditional dancer, or whatever it's called, you have to start learning it all at a very, very young age. I don't think this woman was older than 6 when her parents put her into that school. And that's because it takes an enormous amount of time to learn how to speak with your body.

Nostalgia! As a child, I used to live in a house which had a similar open area in the main hall. We never lacked natural daylight or fresh air. Rain would be interesting to watch. We could play in the light drizzle - without having to step out, since it came right into the house. I am happy such houses still exist and are in very good condition. An excellent venue for this very powerful dance. Devi has many faces. She is the personification of Auspiciousness, Knowledge and Compassion. She has her 'sowmya roopam' and 'saantha bhaavam' in addition to her terrifying form and her terrible anger. But kALI seems to capture everyone's attention by the awe that surrounds Her. Who has more energy.... Siva or pArvathi? As a male Siva would have more power and energy but the name of Devi itself Shakti or Energy. How fascinating must have been their competition in dancing, which finally came to a stop when Siva did the urdhva thANdavam! I am not aware of any other classical dancer who has such perfect control over the body and strikes perfect postures while standing, sitting and even while leaping like a gazelle! The message conveyed is always the same. If the EGO is made to GO from the AHAM ( or I ), Knowledge and Peace arise from within oneself.

Flamenco is derived from North Indian classical dance called Kathak (if you haven't heard of Or watched it you must.. Because you'll be blown away by the similarities between the two especially the movement of feet) This is Bharatnatyam, which is another classical dance of India (out of 9) which comes from down South of India. Same here, although I live in Southern California, I attended a number of recitals given by an American/Indian club at a local university. I guess I'm somewhat spoiled since at that time the dancers used live musicians which no longer seems to be the common. I have not seen this dance before, but I can't imagine a better performance.

This is the single most humbling and powerful art and human expression of movement through choreography and performance that I have ever had the honor to witness in my 31 years on Earth. The artist, Rukmini Vijayakumar, has created peak embodied, emotional, spiritual, and expressive expertise of divine experience. Personally, this transformed my understanding of human capacity entirely and, as such, of myself as a fellow human being. I feel abundantly, intrinsically, and infinitely thankful for this video, for the performer and her art, for having the opportunity to witness, and for life in and of itself. Blessed be the increased capacity for human expression of divinity. Beyond words 💓

She water fire air earth she is devi!! An artist especially of the dance systems that have a very spiritual background understand exactly what this is! I am an older hula 'olapa, and in our tradition we constantly channel the past, the exploits of the gods and royals, the history of the land, and even spirits and nature. We frequently are transported to a different consciousness, and it's a way of communing with our ancestors and the divine! In this aspect these are not just dances. They are more like martial arts or a spiritual path. Beautiful breath taking!!

This is bharathanathyam it's one of 8 classical art forms of India all of which come from a spritual philosophical base .A book named nathya shasthram wrote about 2500+ years ago(possibly way older than that) is the oldest written record of the philosophy of this artistic tredition .This philosophy essentially deals with exploring once inner consciousness through art while the artist his/her self is exploring it she/he brings the viewer along the journy and brings them to a parallel world which is actually a reflection of their own inner self . Essentially this stemes from same philosophy that gave birth to yoga

I felt her the very first bit. Before the girl walked in I felt the divine presents .I saw a goddess and I saw her qualities at fist . Beautiful incaunter opened the creativity , the expression of beauty in everything. The dancer was creating divine art , moving back to admire her creation. But at last move back I read something else in her eyes . Deep deep devotion and I realized that the girl came to the temple and art was full of inspiration because it came from the Devine center. The dancer sat for a moment of stillness and at that moment, fraction of second she opened her heart and strong energy started to flow together with mantra. Unconditional love was so overpowering that is was spilling out with no control. It was flowing through the screen into my heart too. It was new energy . Other goddess had her turn to show her powers . It was steady, lovenly lasting together with fast rytms . No reasons or conditions. The dancer give her body full range of motions and let her body spin. Inspiration, protection, incoragmemt , never judging ever knowing, kind and easy . It was playing with life, telling " go my child try it all , the is nothing you could do wrong, it is your time, take it and use it and try it , and feel it " with full full full heart of love. The flow had a rich flavor and with the time and movement opened into almost sexual sensation. But that tantric flow was so strong that it bypass the lower chakras and was heading right into the heart . And in the pick of the sensuality the Khali came in. And it was her time to have solo. However she walked in so grasfully that I didn't even think for a second but my body bowed in admiration. At the very moment the dancer bowed back to me answering and acknowledging me . I realized that she is not just dancing , the dancer inbody the very essence of those energies. She was her. The moment I bowed I let go of the fears and let her flow throw my body too. I give up with trust letting her organize my system and sort through my things. She walked into the space like loving mother telling " don't worry about a thing, from now on I will take care of you my dear " and I just relaxed. Almost painful plessure of letting go. Some little glass cames up every little block she remived and it came with extatic relise and relief. It leaves you just graful .empty of old - full of grate . All and nothing at the same time. And it lasted long time . I say as the dance goes on with moves and shows Khali in her powers time stopped for me . The life itself disappeared . Those seconds I was in samadhi just few seconds but they last forever too. The Khali was so strong that the dancer had to send some energy down to recharge the mother earth with her 3 fingers , that was not even save to send it into open spice . And after you think it can't get any better all 3 of goddesses walked in as one forth. Saraswathi, Lakshmi and Khali and the flow reopened with the greatest forth and my body came back to physicality and every other non displicable....ality possible. It came in every level from almost instinct sexual pressure to unconditional love , from pain of loss to picks of joy. And all 3 of them stay in unity .while the dancer showed last Khali impression they stayed together in one body . The last move the dancer made was to stick imaginary knife into her heart and right at that moment my heart pumped open and dissolved. The Devi is alive and wants to leave through us . She wants to take what rightfully hers . She comes inside the body and organizes the spice for life . She will change your fire of anger into devotional love . She will give never ending strength and love. She wants to be us , she wants to leave in your beautiful vessles and Co create . I knew before that the Indian dance like this is not easy but I didn't see that it takes more then movements and mudras or facial expressions. It goes into very essence of one's system and we are a walking temples after all. I think I am a person with very strong emotions and I think it did scare me a lot so I had to block them . Because together with deep love came excruciating pain too . So now opening myselfe up I feel like little hungry kitten , hungry for attention . I was starving next to bowl of milk and had no eyes to see it , till Devi gently put my face down the milk bowl and showed me that all I ever wanted was always infont of me . And no need to go and look for love somewhere else. It is inside

I can't help playing this video over and over again : it's like a visitation , an incarnation , a holy possession ... beautiful : all the best of India , it's thousands years old venerable culture showing strong and lively like never before . I'm deeply impressed .

The way I could tell each and every ornament she was dressing the idol with is AMAZING. Even I am a Bharatnatyam dancer and I look up to you as an idol!! :)

The performer has such control over her body, even her face expressions and the position of her fingers are perfect, it's amazing to watch
