yata hey my brother just came across your story i can deficiently relate, i felt the same way when i came home.i was in the navy & served in gulf war & Somalia drinking and fighting a lot to some how cope with the the warrior that we are born with and then trained to be thru military service.always feeling lost or searching for a war to fight that is never their to fight because we come from a warrior society of cultural generations.i was the last & the youngest boy in my family to serve in the military,so the pressure was on me to be a part of the warrior circle of honored native american in the tribe.its a very difficult thing to turn off when you leave the military because you are a changed person and you don't even know it until it gets you into trouble, then your forced to get help at the va. or face prison time.but i do truly thank the people at the va. in menlo park ca. pstsd program for helping me regain control of my life and over coming my addiction to drinking and learning how to cope a little better cope a little better in my life.(WES WASHOE ,WASHOE/PIAUTE NATIVE AMERICAN COMBAT VETERAN US.NAVY 100%sc PTSD)

There was no help for my husband who had PTSD the VA denied him any care. He was discharged from Reynolds Army Hospital after being in psychiatric therapy for 3 months at Fort Sill, OK. He killed himself in 1997. He was a combat veteran with many medals. The VA left me and my children with nothing. They gave him an other than honorable discharge. Even after I found his gun crew and they wrote for me what happen in Vietnam the VA denied me benefits. The rest of his gun crew got their PTSD benefits, however, my husband was the only black man in his gun crew. I guess the VA felt he was invisible while there in combat. I'm now appealing at the BVA and the Army review board.

101 RVN, but I don't think you can ever really belong to society again.
