As December is approaching I hope you'll consider checking out the Christmas EveL album, all three of the songs (four technically but it's just the English version of domino) are amazing, 24 to 25 and Winter Falls being a little slower and touching and Christmas EveL itself having more of a generic Skz style. All three of them have music videos, and I can assure you that you'll love them all

The English version of Domino is one of the few songs switched to English that actually works well. Of course it could be because Domino is such a banger, but it doesn't feel as out of place as Double Knot did.

I’m so glad you did these. I also really enjoy some of the Japanese album Bsides too; LOST ME hits me emotionally. They sing it as part of their FIRST TAKE appearances, which are a must see because you can focus on their vocal abilities with no other distractions.

🎉SLUMP: "Did he (Han) breathe?" Yes... and No. I did an OT8 in one go cover of this song and had to study closely and fine tune the breathing because there's literally no space to breathe anywhere... Han did breathe before his super long last line, but not in the middle of it. Asks for a well trained and skilled breath control to go through it. 🎉SCARS: there is a beautiful Dance performance MV version of it that showcases the amazing choreo, veey worth watching for the formations. That song is one of my favourites choreos, along with Domino. 🎉THE SOUND: if you like the heavy rock sound, you should check out Battlefield, it's a B side from The Sound album and it's HEAVY (and one of my fav). Ranks somewhere between Social Path/All In and LALALALA Rock version in terms of heaviness. It does not have MV, but they performed it live during the Japanese dates of their 5 Star Dôme Tour, with the live band, and it slaps really hard!

you're so right about their music pre-god's menu ! i also do like slump more, it's like one of my top skz songs of all time + the lyrics (in all 3 languages of the song) are SOOO GOOD, han did such a good job writing this one. 3racha also did great matching the songs with the actual anime's story. i started watching anime after top and slump were released, it's been a good experience since then hehe also idk if you've heard of muddy water (rap line unit song) but felix's rap lyrics there mentioned demon slayer and a year later they collaborated with LiSA, it's just so fascinating!

Fun fact: TOP was happening at the same time as Levanter.. i like the fact that even tho the song is for an anime it still revolves around their storyline! Fun fact 2#: The sound has references to Thunderous, Maniac and Venom. The blue lighting is for Thunderous, the tornado is a reference to Changbins line in Maniac "like a sealed tornado" and Venom is for the bow that Chan was holding made out of blue lights. (Also, The Sound was made over 3 years ago and Thunderous was released 2 years ago, Maniac and Venom around a year later.) Fun fact 3#: Social Path is about fears but also about Bangchans story when he was a trainee. Basically Bangchan became a trainee at just 13 years old and trained for 7 years. You could say that he "gave up his youth for his future". 7 years is a long time so he made friends with many idols like Lisa (bp), twice, got7 and more. However, Chan developed depression cause he watched all of them them debut to the point that he was left all alone in the small dorm. He even confessed *not once* that if not for Stray kids, he might have not been here right now, on earth.

Circus is what made me a Stay. I got into kpop after watching the kdrama Imitation and had to look up the song Troublemaker. Found a top 100 compilation and of course BTS was on there. Became an ARMY but let Pandora add other kpop songs to my playlist and had several SKZ songs pop up - District 9, Hellevator, Thunderous, etc. As I was so new to kpop, I had decided to just follow one group because I didn't think I'd have time to follow a bunch of them. But then Circus was released. And hit me in the face and I was completely hooked. I had bought BTS' The Proof album (the first kpop album I ever bought), and before I even received it in the mail, I had completely switched to SKZ lol. I still enjoy BTS music, but I just prefer SKZ and now they are the only group I really follow. I still listen to others, but I just can't keep up with more than one group (the tweets, the instagram.. oi. It's not my generation lol). I can't wait for you to check out the First Take songs they did. They also have subtitles for those - like the only channel that has subtitles for Japanese songs. And now.. making me go into debt with another Patreon haha :D ♥

i only listen to the korean versions of 'top' and 'slump' so this really confused me for a second lmao (btw all their japanese title tracks are also released as korean versions and vice versa, a few of them also have eng vers too) you should check out the 'slump' and 'scars' first take videos! I highly recommend listening to the all album The Sound, there is a crazy rock song Battle Ground , there are lyrical songs too, very pleasant. There is also a single song with Japanese rapper SKY-Hi and 3racha “Just Breathe”, a cool song. It is very difficult to choose the BEST. 😊 japanese releases are NEVER a miss. It comes to no surprise of how stray kids are so popular in japan. It feels like actual music and not the 'rest' just to appease international fans, like a lot of foreign language song editions in kpop are. They are one of the few groups that come to mind when talking about good japanese music in kpop.

I think the line “gave up my youth for my future, I just want to rise up stronger” speaks a lot for how he moved to Korea alone when he was only 13 years old and worked day and night for 7 years to debut 🤍

thanks for reaction! SKZ Japanese titles are as good as the Korean ones. I have been streaming Rock-Star this past week and I have forgotten how good "the sound" is :) I think "slump" is my most favourite song of all time: cool rap, high singing and most importantly lyrics I relate to a lot... Btw "top" and "slump" both have Japanese, Korean and English versions. You should check out SKZ performances at 1 take. they have done a lot, among the songs you know are "slump" and "case 143".

just some background on slump: it's my personal favourite song from skz and what makes it especially endearing is that HAN wrote it when he was in a very painful period of time and felt like he couldn't do anything and was just in a SLUMP. he had a long history of anxiety and had periods of time where he had to go on hiatus due to it and this is the song he wrote during it to express his feelings of being overwhelmed and stress and myself and large parts of the fandom are able to relate to this same feeling. the english version hits SO hard and its incredible how accurately HAN is able to convey this emotion.

Circus was the first song i listened to by Stray Kids so it holds a special place in my heart. And Chris wrote Social Path about his trainee days and knowing that makes the song a whole lot sadder. I LOVE Social Path. I love all their songs, shoot. But Battleground from The Sound album is my favorite Japanese bside at least. I think it'll have more of the rock you're looking for?? Hey, I've been enjoying your SKZ reactions so much, I love your enthusiasm cos...same! I know a few other STAY in the comments have asked you to react to their First Take performances so I just wanna give them to you in the correct order: Slump - they were the 1st Korean group invited to First Take, and actually I think the 1st non Japanese artists. (someone correct me if I'm wrong there) Mixtape OH - the 1st time a non Japanese song was performed on First Take Scars - their 2nd performance on same day as Mixtape OH Case 143 - earlier this year Lost Me - their 2nd performance on same day as Case 143, I was hoping they would go back to First Take when they were promoting Social Class or during the Dome Tour but no such luck. 😭

It's really sad that the japanese channel never has any english subs :(( but i recommend checking out the english version of slump because the lyrics for that song are so raw and devastating. han wrote it and i think you can understand more about han as a person and his struggles through these lyrics. if i am not mistaken he also wrote this song during his actual slump while he was on hiatus due to mental health problems back in 2019/20. it just hits really hard and personally i think you can't fully appreciate slump without knowing the lyrics, so definitely check them out!!
