RuralAccent Woodcraft The correct pronunciation of the ch sound doesn't come naturally to an English speaker so he has every right to pronounce it like that, as do most scots. Also, a loch is the Scottish word for lake so he has every right to call it a lake too.

Absolute rubbish. Most Scots pronounce 'loch' correctly. And whether or not he is from Scotland, it is ignorant and arrogant to make no effort to pronounce our place-names correctly. The sound is not hard if you try...problem is, most don't bother to try. If you're talking about Scottish places, use the correct terminology. In Scotland, they're called lochs. It's not a hard concept to get your head around. Scots don't go to England and call all of the lake there lochs. A bit of respect goes a long way.
