This clip was really focused on the Bricky-Matara 'nine year old siblings playing Halo co-op for the first time' energy, tons of fun, but I have to admit, completely losing iconic levels like the Silent Cartographer and 343 Guilty Spark (or even the Library and Keyes, yes) hurts bad. Combined with Bricky's contempt for 'old thing', Matara not knowing any better, them talking over everything and not engaging... I'm definitely too fanatical about Halo but it's pain. Maybe it's for the best this one was 'only' half an hour. Matara's Warthog Run was the stuff of legends, though Bricky has a point. If you're doing something and it just isn't even remotely beginning to work or feel good, why not try other stuff? Different keys? Looking around with the mouse? Asking Chat or Bricky? Ofc, playing while streaming adds so much difficulty and cognitive load, and she probably thought that's just how it's supposed to be? Well, she's levelled up now. Thanks for going through the Halo series, Mata, like I said it's nice seeing vtubers get into this.

Not gonna lie... I actually prefer the old graphics. Not only is it what I grew up with. But it just looks less janky. It's like the new graphics are attempting to be new but they're still old so they look worse. I dunno.

Most people agree with you, Bricky is the only person I've heard say they like the new graphics. The issue with the new graphics is that whilst lots of enemies look better, a lot of the world looks worse bc there is too much unnecessary detail in some areas, and stuff from the original graphics is just missing in the new graphics. They also don't really fit the tone in a lot of areas, making things too bright or making walls too detailed that it draws your eye away from the set piece the game is trying to show you. The issue is updating the graphics for the sake of it, without adhering to the original vision of the game. The game came out in 2001, but they knew how to use the limited graphics they had to set a scene, whereas the new graphics put detail into everything, even when that detail detracts from the emotions that the current level is going for

I'm so glad the game was played in the classic graphics. I don't typically dislike Bricky's takes, by the idea that the anniversary graphics are better than the classic graphics for CE is just untrue. Am I talking a little bit from nostalgia? Absolutely, but I think it holds up quite well with the handmade animations and texture-wrapped models. The anniversary version's motioned-capped animations look so awkward in the game's cutscenes.
