I hope that after cutting down so far for a lower doorway and floor that you take some kind of precautions so that you don't have flooding issues of water going into your house when it pours rain. Especially from water coming down your stairway and running into the house.

John the wooden addition when you look from the front door of your stone house up to the wooden addition looks absolutely stunning. Love the lawn mower but way out of my price range, your lawn looks stunning though who would have thought that you have stomped that into the ground with your own two feet and vellies. John I went into the Mamotion Luba 2 link, and it looks as though you have made a smart move in its purchase. The extension is an art work in progress. When completed it will be a wonderful addition to the stonehouse. Glad Tara is in Zimbabwe with the boys while the floor is being excavated, all that mess and dust.... I admire your family and am so happy to have found your channel and joined a few weeks ago. We once had a very rusty old metal stove in a cabin we bought, and were lucky enough to have a friend bring us some, I think it was called, "US Naval Jelly", which not only cleaned off the rust, but seemed to add lustre to the metal. It looked magnificent when fully cleaned. The terra cotta tiling is gorgeous. You really are an artist!

Seal your terracotta floor with a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine (50/50)and just rubbing it in. I think I used fine steel wool to rub it in. I did it with a floor in my back entrance. You could spill anything on it and it cleans up beautifully. Some people then wax it after sealing, but I never bothered. It was fine.

Dear John et consortes!! Glad to see you can lower the floor ca 20 cm. Also,the red floor tiles looks good on any way. Also,the fine grass cutter/lawn mover, that shall save you hours.... Glad to see you have some good helpers,but u might need ear covers or plugs. Hope Tara and da bojs are good and enjoy Zimbwave. As for me,finally got to island Karpathos,but no hotelroom...yet. Glad you've got help with the floor. The kitchen is going to be amazing with the tile and your design. If you are redoing the wall tile theres a product in Cda...perhaps Portugal too.. Mapei Eco Prim Grip. You paint it over existing tile then tile over.
