Seven Line Prayer to Guru Rinpoche | Devotional Prayer to Guru Rinpoche
Conjured by the dakinis’ vajra song of the Seven Line Prayer, Padmasambhava miraculously appeared as an eight year old boy on a lotus in the middle of Lake Dhanakosha, in the land of Oddiyana. After he was adopted by King Indrabhuti, his presence brought great benefit to the kingdom, and he was eventually enthroned. He remained for five years as the king of Oddiyana, and surrounded by dakas and dakinis he displayed the splendor of his wisdom which spontaneously overcame the most powerful visible and invisible beings causing them to all regard him as their supreme monarch. This is the real victory of Padma Gyalpo, the Lotus King, a very special emanation of Guru Rinpoche who magnetizes perception and conception beyond ego-clinging and negative emotions and actively increases joy, peace, and spiritual realization. Meditation on Padma Gyalpo outshines mundane views and deluded emotions, enriching the accumulation of merit and wisdom. Through cutting ego-clinging one arises as a great sovereign, having mastered one’s relationship with all phenomena. In perfect command of feelings and responses, the power and dignity of a splendorous king or queen blossoms naturally.
