When i first started driving in the 60's, all of the mechanics in the shop fixed them like that. The brake shoes were done the same way. Amazing job then and now. Brought back memories long lost. Thank you.

He didn't need an engineering degree or training to do this. Too much education can actually spoil you for this kind of work. You start thinking of tolerance, stresses, balance, vibration, fatigue, etc., and before you know it, you rule out such repairs.

Huh, I never thought of this! Awesome! Clutch plates that last for the life of the vehicle and the driver! LIFETIME GUARANTEE! Too bad the guarantee is for the life of the truck and the driver, and not the guy 'rebuilding' the clutches, because in all odds, the old man is going to live a lot longer than anyone in the vehicle using these clutches.

Yeah, instead of forcing the spring to compress with a shim he should've either changed it or tryed to make it open more (and test if it would deform after, of course). And that rusty blade he put in the place of the broken one, I don't know, he cleaned all the blades before, why not clean this one too? In the end he hits the hammer randomly, missing a lot of rivets...

Agreed he's a master of his work. He probably looks ten years older than he is though, certainly the chemicals and dusts would effect him, and there is no pension or free ride over there, it's not even in their mindset, you retire when you can't work any longer, until then you work as much as possible to provide for your family etc.

When I visit pakistan, I see many 90 year old smokers, who have been smoking since teenagers. Fitter and more active than me at 40 yrs. It's the pure foods, waters I'm my opinion.

Once change gear and found I had no clutch, had no clue what was wrong, The clutch only had the medal around it all the pads were gone and i thank the rib;s were still there. the parts person said he had never seen anything like that before, As a kid I had no idea how strange it was, was amazing watching his work

He did more than i expected he inspected the whole plate for metal fatigue,checked springs for slackness and replaced the friction surface , a real professional job. A true recycler if i ever saw one.

Ничего необычного - простая ручная работа при наличии новых запасных частей. Мы с отцом в 70-х сами наклёпывали и диски сцепления и тормозные колодки.

Немного непонятно - зачем сначала выстукивать лепестки в плоскость, а потом менять лепесток. Следом опять выравнивать плоскость и разбирать дальше, ставя на ребро. На мой взгляд, несколько этапов работы проделано впустую. Но все равно респект мужику, руки золотые)

I’m 81 and retired at 66. There’s no way I could still be working at 90! Thank goodness I was born in a fairly progressive country providing workers with pensions, 401s, Social Security, etc.👍🏼👍🏼
