Hi Amanda, thank you so much for such a warm feedback! I'm always nervous after releasing a new video. I hope that the soundtrack is better every time, as I work hard to mix the best tracks. Sure, the image is not great, as I have yet to record the budgie colony with my new camera. But at least the sound should be good, so I thank you for reassuring me!

Thanks a lot! So you prefer to play one video in a loop rather than a playlist of videos. Maybe I should make longer videos. The audio is the tricky part and I’m trying to mix various Australian bird sounds so that the final soundscape is what a budgie would find in a rich habitat. For example in a bushy area after the rains, when there are temporary water holes and fresh vegetation growth. These would attract lots of species such as zebra finches, cockatiels, various pigeons and of course large flocks of budgies. I have always kept in the mix my original recordings of Banco the lonely budgie, which elicit the response of other budgies. But episode 4 has his track on a very quiet level. Best wishes!

Hey can anyone please tell me if my budgie can stay alone, her companion died recently and I feel like she looks for him a lot and calls him frequently. Should I bring a new companion?

Yes, a budgie can be kept alone. But budgies and most other parrots are happier in the company of at least another one of their own. A single budgie needs constant company and attention from his human friend, which is not always possible. Such birds become sad and develop stereotypical behaviours, such as 'talking' to their reflection in a mirror. You can bring a budgie to keep company to your bird, but be careful to get an adult specimen, and keep it in quarantine for at least a month. Best wishes! Florin

Poor babies. They don't realise it's a recording. A bit like my dog who was excited to see her own reflection in shop windows, but was disappointed. Still, Budgerigars tend to benefit from hearing such sounds, be it from a flock kept next door, and out-of-sight, or from a TV screen. Best wishes! Florin
