Great info. Where in Australia can you source timing bots/fasteners or do you just use generic off the shelf high tensile bolts? I'm limping along on my original bolts as I couldn't find replacements.

Hi Daz, when you wash the engine bay do you use any degreaser and a pressure washer or just a normal hose? Thanks Paul.

Hi, On a Disco 4 just a mild water based degreaser cleaner that I put in a spray bottle at a 50% dilution with water . If you are unsure, spray a small section first and wash off, the battery cover underside is a good test plastic. I use a pressure washer and yes its higher pressure than a garden hose but it doesnt have the volume, so less water over everything. You have to use your common sense (if there is such a thing now days) and not sit there spraying something until the cows come home. leave it all to dry and a coat with your fav "silicone spray" keep in mind products such as Penetrene, WD40 etc are not for use on plastics.

@@aztech4x4mechanical thanks for the advice, I have a 240k service next week to do and my engine needs a clean. I’m heading out Monday to get some of the silicone spray that you have suggested. 👍

Do you replace the fuel pump belt on the 3.0 V6 in situ?

Yes, it's a little bit of work to get to it but still can be done with the body on.
