I'd rather be a gator wrangler than do abalone diving in South Australia. My heart would not be able to cope if I met a GW.

the sandy beach is more comfortable to swim around but when you swim around the kelp forest and rocky shores it is so scary.

Diving for abalone near a seal colony is, inevitably, only asking for trouble! NO abalone is worth that sort of risk!
@Buildinc1

Come to Cape Town ! These boys dive off Gaans Bay and seal island , day and night, no cages, no protection or lookouts , just a torch for night time and a knife for day time. Big brass balls doesn’t even begin to describe them.
@christianburk2432
@christianburk2432 3 жыл бұрын
@@Buildinc1 Jesus Christ on a cross they dive at night with just a torch??? That’s either brass balls or stupidity. You couldn’t pay me enough to dive at night where great whites are known to be. I couldn’t imagine diving at night or in the day for that matter and then a great white is right next to you.

@realMaverickBuckley
@realMaverickBuckley Жыл бұрын
They don't have a favourite food. They need calories. If youre an option, they'll take it. They don't feel love or kinship , equally they don't feel hate or wrath. They need calorific kntake for the least amount of calory expenditure.

They are diving into the sharks 🦈 own backyard n feeding ground. It’s about risk management: A third person in the water acting as a spotter would reduce much danger but that would add to the cost of the trip.

I have been on that shark boat but i didn't see a shark. I remember the owner of the boat saying that when the seals are playing about the boat there is no shark but once they disappear there is one coming.
@matty6848
@matty6848 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve heard the same. The Seals have far better senses than us, especially smell and underwater eyesight so they see them coming way before us. When the Seals go, you know it’s time to get out of the water.

They shouldn't be chumming where abalone divers work. They're going to get someone killed.
@matty6848
@matty6848 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. By chumming the water their putting the divers lives at risk. Surely there should be some law not too chum when there’s divers in the water, especially when it’s their living? These guys are risking life and limb too make money and for many it’s passed down generations from their fathers so for many it’s all they know. Then these stupid tourist boats turn up and turn the Sea red, turning the Sharks into a zombie feeding frenzy. Complete idiots. Personally they should give the divers full priority then when their finished then the chumming boats can go out.

No thanks, think I’ll stick too driving my road train. No Great Whites in the outback and I hate swimming in the Sea anyhow. Even when I’m just in the shallows I mean like 2 foot of water I don’t feel safe. Especially the poor guy who was killed recently by a Great white, he was literally 50 meters from the beach and rocks. Stick to a pool, it’s safer😂
