Thank you, Brian Earhart. I am using your modified 1-step drill as my drive when I am in tighter places or with poorer lies. And the 3-step Xstep you describe here (versus the more complicated and confusing 5-step Xstep) is a Godsend. Finally, clarity! You are the man! If I improve beyond these two drives, that is fine. If I don't, these two drives should serve me well for the long haul.

This was the best teaching video I’ve seen that explains the process of the X step with the explanation of cause and effect of the correct and incorrect methods used. I also really like drills that correct incorrect methods. Lastly the presentation and filming of this material was top notch. Even being right handed it was perfectly clear. Can’t wait to see what I can learn next. Thanks again for sharing this wonderful information with us all.

Brian! This is incredible! Total game changer. Having to rethink the way my feet are moving and actually make the change has increased the distance and accuracy of my entire game. It’s also opened my eyes to why my Wife’s been struggling with her distance as she played softball (catcher, pitcher, & left field) for most of her life. We are watching this together tonight before our round tomorrow and guarantee it’s going to help her 10-fold. Thanks for breaking this fundamental process down and making it super easy to put into action. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Hello 👋 I've been playing for one full yr now as a Lefty - im 62 yrs young - I can't seem to throw my disc before hitting the ground at 180 feet - I throw more less at a adverage 150 - 165 sometimes a really good throw for me is 175 feet I just watched this video - Do you have any videos as in throwing Left Handed Thanks for making these impressive important videos

Great tutorial. I'd like to see a video of throwing with height and keeping the disc level. All my drives are 6 feet off the ground, and I tend to throw nose up trying to get height for a turnover shot.

Brian-- I've been doing the plant-step "baseball style" for about as long as I've been playing (8 years). Plant-stepping slightly forward as you (and others) recommend affects my aim downfield. My RHBH throws now go in the direction of that plant step; generally left of my driving target. How do I correct or compensate my throw or "aim" for this footwork change? Great video, by the way.

This was an awesome video thank you. I couldn't figure out what was wrong, but the last thing my mind was thinking was the x-step. I kept shifting different things and wasn't changing the result, but never really broke down my x-step. At least 3 of the things you pointed out as wrong i know i do. It will take some retraining mentally, but i think this is where i can improve most. I lost all my momentum and end up strong arming the disc which ends up very inconsistent.

Thank you so much for making this. My husband I have just started playing and I'm awful. I don't have the best coordination and trying to learn to do the whole X step all at once is not working well. The way you break it down to practice parts of it in bites to help train muscle memory might be just the thing I need. I'm not trying to be the best disk golfer ever. I'm just trying not to completely suck at it. 😂

So I have a question? I have the habit of taking a few x steps, is that bad or should I really be trying for the three step? I’m still relatively new to the game, but one thing I have learned playing is that sometimes it’s just the smallest tweak you need for amazing results. Another thing I’ve learned is if you stand on the box and think about the shot longer than it takes to throw the shot you are probably thinking about it too hard, and should probably stand up straight and reset (buddy told me that and it made a large difference in my driving ability).

Best tutorial for disc golf I have ever seen. Should be the first thing every beginner disc golfer puts their energies too. All the greats have a rhythm. Like that x-step. If you watch Simon L. throw off the tee...in videos where you can't see his feet or legs during run up...there is NO up and down motion. He just floats across the screen. All forward momentum. It looks like magic.
