Thanks Mr. Chevy Chase for the putting tips. I picked up a ton of stuff I'll be using in my short game. Love what you've done with your hair!

This was so super helpful! I'm a relative beginner whose been playing a lot lately and trying to practice the right things. Applying the form demonstrated in this video added much consistency and distance to my putting. THANKS!

Thanks for the tip on form. I'm so happy i watched this. Yesterday I went out and my putting skills increased so much, I made so many puts that I used to never make except that rare lucky shot.

We loved the Swirl APX just as much as you. The problem was inconsistencies in the manufacturing process that gave the swirl it's unique look and feel... find one of those discs and see if it's peeling. Chances are fair it will be. Discraft's reputation is built on 30 years of quality and consistency. If a disc can't deliver that to our customers, then that disc is discontinued, end of story. So long Swirl APX, we'll miss you!

@EdMcStinko While I know many players that use a hyzer style of putt, I would say that most successful players use a flatter throw. The main benefits I have always seen for a flat putt are (a) you are throwing directly at the target and do not need to figure in a large swing in the shot (b) a disc entering the chains on an angle has a better chance of slicing through and (c) roll aways are more prevalent with hyzer putts. Flat is the way to go!

this video helped me a lot! I love discraft and most of my bag is discraft. I put mostly with my Ti Buzz and i can sink them from about 50 feet in with it pretty consistently. That buzz is one of my favorite discs in my bag along with my esp nuke and my flx avenger and avenger SS. on my holes i only throw Discraft and because i have a little bigger hands and they fit perfect for me! when i do put i mostly use my challenger if i am closer to the basket (within 10 feet).

They discontinued the APX swirls for a reason - inconsistencies in the discs. Discraft might not make the longest gliding drivers, but they do make consistent discs, which gives them the upper hand in that department. I throw both brands, but its nice to be able to pick something up and know just how it'll fly. I'm glad they hold their standards high enough to stop production of discs when they have a lot of inconsistencies between them.

Scott,. very well spoken, well done. I seem to have 2 puts actually 3 puts. the one you described here is great for 20ft. and in, then there is a 40ft. where my foot starts to point 60* for a slightly more powerful back swing. Finally from 100ft to about 50ft I use the Ron Russel stance which is best described as looking like your playing catch, my right shoulder is lined up with basket and there is no need for jumping at all the power I get from this stance. Ok now is that correct form???

Great video: 5 stars. Does make sense that the putter is a very important disc, and how to throw it, but also a DVD would be an important disc also, in learning new techiques.

i have the soft banger gt and it helped me get a pretty far shot. the thing about soft banger, its straight and yes it can hyzer depending on how good you are. thing i like about it is that it goes straight where you want it to go then if you want hyzer it a little and it will hook for you right at the end. perfect putter, only down side is that its soft and gets banged up lol

@terrestiralsoup When putting at all times, you have a focus point. because i putt with overstable wizards, my focus point is one single chain link a little to the right of where the pole is (RHBH). If you do the same, just put your focus point along the same chain link you usually focus on a bit higher and possibly at the top of the basket. You will release higher without realizing it and you will put just enough power into it to climb the hill

Thanks for the tips. For what reasons does one choose either an angled (I think the teacher called it "hyzer") or a flat release? Recently I began to use the angled release because it was the only way I could make a bid the longer putts. Now I use that release for all of my putts because I dont have to think as much about when to release. Can anyone else relate to what Im talking about?
@mquirk0011 жыл бұрын
Release is 90% of a successful putt. everything else fits into that last 10 %. I've seen many different, and crazy styles of putting over the last 13 years and everyone does better doing what comes natural to them, or what's comfortable, but most importantly it's about when your fingers leave the disc. If you play long enough you'll develop a good ,consistent putt regardless. For instance, I never raise my hand as high as you explain.That's when I start missing. Low, stiff, and straight are key!
@MooTaters15 жыл бұрын
I think you guys should make a putting video on distance ones, but not as far. More the in between normal "easy" short distance and the long 100ft putt video. Something that talks about how to get that glide and snap in to make it glide nice. It's just something I can't figure out how to do so I usually lay up by throwing high and pushing forward hard.

@67vespa does it go in the basket, or at least hit chains? then yes, its good form

any suggestions when I putt disc veers off to the right all the time even with my foot lined up
@theycallmegodkid10 жыл бұрын
Could be the angle of your release. If you're right handed, you may be releasing wing (the rim of the Disc opposite where your fingers are) high. That could cause the Disc to drift right. Or, if you're left handed, the Disc will naturally finish to the right, so keep focusing on a flat release. Hope this helps!

does purple hair help putting?
@thearaban14 жыл бұрын
If I was decent at putting, I'd be close to par. Great video, I'm going to practice now.
@papatarttube14 жыл бұрын
@marshie1337 There is no actual difference in the disc itself, just the plastic. The Soft Banger is truly just that, softer, and that feel is what I like in my putters. From there it is just a personal preference as I can see no performance difference in the throw of either plastic. So find out which one you like and go with that one!
