Discus Piwowarski

A few impressions of my discus fish in the breeding plant at my home. Here I only breed my discus and grow them up to a size of 6 cm. Then I bring them for further rearing and for sale in the facility in my optics shop. You see some "new blood". This are crossings between redturquoise and a wild royal blue (some female in a breeding aquarium together with a red turquoise male). And you see an aquarium with a crossing between redturquoise and a wild Heckel. At the end of the clip you can see how my discus eat the beefheart mix.

For you of those wondering how he had such amazing discus, I would imagine it has to do with that he constantly has thousands to choose from, from each spawn, and picks out the best ones as they grow and then only breeds his absolute best ones which allows for amazing blood lines. Most the fish you buy even from the top retailers like discus hans for instance, you’re not getting the top fish available. The breeders keep them for themselves. This is why breeding is so rewarding so you can keep the absolute best from each batch and then breed some extremely nice specimens

These are amazing, healthy fish. Great round body shape, consistent colours and patterns. Solid body. I wish they were available in Australia. -> I'm having trouble with gill flukes (dactylogyrus) in my discus. How do you manage flukes?

Sehr schöne Fische ich bin grad auf der suche nach Diskus leider gibt es überwiegend nur die "neuen" Zuchtformen die gefallen mir nicht so gut lieber die Natürlicheren Rot Türkis oder auch gerne den Braunen Diskus auch da wo sichtbar der Heckel eingekreutzt wurde besonders wen der Mittelstreifen noch gut sichtbar ist . Frage verkaufen sie ihre Nachzuchten wenn ja wo ich komme südlich von HH
