Hot take here: I don't want a new Smash Bros. I truly want Nintendo to keep this as the definitive Smash Bros. and keep pumping updates. Sakurai already said there'll never be another Smash like Ultimate, and implied he doesn't plan on returning to the series; I highly doubt Nintendo would ever make a new entry without his involvement. So yeah, I would love for Ultimate to get backwards compatibility with "Switch 2" and keep getitng updates like Mario Kart 8. Hard copium for this aniversary update but we can only hope.

True. But that’s not going to stop Nintendo. They know how big Ultimate is with how much units they sold, and they can make a new one without Sakurai.

If we get Smash 64 for the switch, I can have the complete set in my hands and can make retrospects of all characters myself in future videos. That's the one thing that should be the most likely.

Wait does replay data get replaced when I update? Also if it is, then is it just replays or all videos and edited videos?

All I know is that the “most replayed” feature is one way to find the highlights of one video.

It is just replays. I’m not sure of the specifics so it might not happen, but the way replays generally work is that it has two bots play out the saved game using the exact inputs used in the match (or something along those lines). So the main reason they stop working is if a character in that match gets changed, the replay won’t play out the same and is corrupted. But changing them to videos just makes them actual videos which should be unaffected.
