***** The author, William Goldman, wrote the screenplay, so it isn't terribly different. There are a couple differences to make for a better viewing experience, but it expands on the characters. Like their origins, motivations, etc. And Goldman's satirical humor is great on the page.

The way I see the whole "half empty/half full" glass is that if you're filling it and stop halfway, it's half full. And if it starts out full and you drink half of it, it's half empty. So in that, it means a glass is either half full or half empty depending on the state it was in before it got to the halfway point.

Ashley Stalnaker They definitely pre record because they were sponsored by some new youtube based site the other day, similar to netflix, that costs 2 dollars a month or something small like that where you can see all episodes 24 hours before everybody else. so they are at least 24 hours ahead!!!! I'd guess a week is a fair estimate, always better to be prepared :) still don't know exactly how early they are though!

I never saw pi being represented by 3.14. You are certainly reading some special books. Pi is a transcendental number, so you can not represent it in numerical form. Avogadro number is not transcendental, so you can have a finite number.
@benkuharik
@benkuharik 9 жыл бұрын
letdomf when you use pi in any formula it has a finite numerical value, when finding the circumference of a circle it is pi*diameter and if you needed to solve that you would round. you must be reading some special books yourself if it says leave pi in the answer and not to round. even in the highest, most pristine, calculators it is rounded. it being infinite becomes useless after so many places after the decimal... and if you've never seen pi represented as 3.14 then you must've never attended elementary grade math. pi is ALWAYS represented numerically when using it in equations, unless you leave pi in the answer, which then your answer isn't typically too helpful or accepted

if you got the money you can buy a periodic table or real elements. was featured on vsauce. nothing crazy happens and its pretty cool. comes with 1 kg samples of the solid state elements. and the gases are presented in neon lights (neon is used loosely as the glass tubes contain individual elements freon zeon neon xenon ect to make different colours) and i believe you get imitation radioactive elements in the actual case but are provided with real samples in proper containment units.

I was recently thinking of the idea of what would happen if you got one cubic centimeter of each element and put them all in the same location.

I've read that book before I watched this video and it is a really good book. It's super scientific but also amazingly interesting! Read it! My favorite part is 'one block of every element of the periodic table'

I have What If as a physical book and I think it's better that way, despite Randall Munroe's great explanations for everything, sometimes I just need to go back and read some parts a few times. Also, I like the physical book for the cartoons. I think a narrative book is a better choice if you're going to listen to audiobooks.

If you want to do a science-centric book that's also a light read , try "the science of discworld" by Terry Pratchett.
