This is a remake of the final boss theme to Disgaea 1. and in Disgaea 2, it's Laharl's boss theme....so, not only did Laharl beat the shit out of the final boss, but he also stole his theme. That's.....just beyond badass.

He's post main storyline, the one time you fight him in storyline he SLAUGHTERS you by himself, he rips through your entire force alone, spamming high end sword skills and his best personal skills with impunity, throwing METEORS at you while laughing his sadistic little head off with glee. Its impossible to beat him, even in New Game+ if you trained to really high levels, for if he loses, he freakin blows everyone up with a gigantic meteor, ending the game there and then.

There is also an early fight you can trigger where he does the same thing if you win. Can’t forget that! I think you can only start it in the first two chapters or something like that?

I like how this theme fits Laharl perfectly. It instills fear into the opponent, almost like them being attacked by Laharl himself. The distorted sounds can be of the souls he's plunged into chaos and destroyed. Ultimately, I see this as a theme to intimidate an opponent, and to show of the fact that "Yo billy, you fucked up. Now you fight Laharl." I also find this theme shows off Laharl's nobility, by bloodline, at the 0:31 mark. All hail overlord Laharl.

Something really amazing happened during this battle for me, my level 19 thief was able to steal his majin armor on a 1% chance that I would get it. I was so siked (sp) afterward and now I can just send out Adell to kill EVERYTHING, literally.

@Nazuiko Well killing the Seraph was 'technically' registered as the normal ending, considering they expected us to end up killing at least one of our own men on the battle field. The Good Ending where Flonne becomes a Fallen Angel is considered the "True" ending of the game. Also if the Normal ending was really canon, then Laharl couldn't actually be in Disgaea 2 because he sacrificed his own life at the end.

by the Canon, i mean the official storyline. Yes, the canon ending was when Flonne became a fallen angel. obviously. but thats the story. Baal is a post-game (i.e., after the final boss) boss, but still has storyline to him, and it is considered official storyline, in other words, Canon.

@ZackBreaker Absolutely true...I've not played the game yet and I deeply regret that, but even so seeing him in parts of cut scenes and cameos he's one of the better RPG characters ever. So many RPGs give their mains limited/no personality, starts them off sucking/doing annoying things, or makes them excessively cliche'd. Laharl just seems awesome from start to finish; comical, overwhelmingly arrogant, and yet powerful enough to back it up usually lol.

@TalesOfGod Hes not the bad guy in anything, hes another pro/antagonist (depending on your point of view in the game). What qualifies him as a "bad guy" (enemy) is the only level where you fight him in that tower, or axel mode at the end. Hes by no means a "bad guy", just a spoiled overlord looking out for himself... And we love him for that.

@TalesOfGod He's not -the- bad guy of the game (that would be Overlord Zenon), but he does appear to challenge you in the story. You can fight him in a secret battle and recruit him to your team, too!

Poor Harlie. He gets all this epicness to him in the main story, then during the recruit scene he gets reduced to a poor, abandined overlprd that gets beat up by Adell and co., with Etna there to laugh in his face. There's also another overlord that's supposed to be stronger (Mao in Disgaea 3) after Laharl became the strongest by defeating Baal the first time. So sad. He's the coolest overlord though. Ride on, weilder of Baal's Sword and Horn (horn is DLC in 3)!

coming back to this theme, I still dint get why laharl gets hyped up so mutch, the only reason he looks cool in this fight is because he shows up early game after you had to cheat yo beat edna who was at a similar level to him, he later gets his ass beat in the post game, and every other game hes shown up hes successfully gotten beaten up by the new lead easily exalt maybe 6 cause I'm not at him yet.

Because Laharls Voice and Arc is way better than most protags, despite being a dumb kid he gets great character development and embodies his role almost perfectly. Plus his game has actual challenges outside of grinding and playing with blocks Basically laharl has the *DEEP LORE*
