Guess this is a love topic. Let's try and keep rational and stay off shipping/fanfic or whatever lol. D1 Laharl is hinted to love Flonne. Though eh...Flonne seemed more of the elder sister kind of role. Judging from how she pretty much affects Laharl's life in the first one. Been awhile since I played it. So well Disgaea is known for its sorta weirdness. So maybe it could be that Laharl did love Flonne,but she provably just love him like a friend or something. Can't say for certain. D2. This one is the most obvious one. How Adell and Rozalin develops throughout the story. What gave it away is that Adell starts off with 0% trust in Rozalin. By the end of the game it is 99%(technically 100% but the game always goes 99%). Adell and Rozalin are also the only two whose relationship actually makes it to different Disgaea cameo appearance. They may deny it,but if you actually speak to them,they're constantly thinking about the other and what the other might like. Disgaea 3 Almalz and Sapphire. Worst game I played,but I did like how Almalz and Sapphire developed. They are married in the end. Almalz being some nobody who ended up in the Netherworld last I remember,and Sapphire being a princess. Now if you noticed the connection in D1/D2/D3. All three of the females Flonne,Rozalin,and Sapphire all have some kind of high standing. This one is shifted in D4. Going into the back story with Sister Artina. Well a nun is pretty much as common as a female could get I suppose in these kinds of story. Anyway, throughout the time leap,Artina and Valvatorez are always speak in an open matter. Though they are also withdrawn at the same time. Something quite difficult to pull off in a romantic tragedy kind of story. Their characters could have been fleshed out more,but I guess it was enough. Even more,Last Engage is through Valvatorez's point of view relating to Artina. If you actually read the lyrics,it is quite beautiful. Anyway,towards the end of the time leap,that sense of seeming that their relationship could have gone further sticks. That's when you read Last Engage lyrics. Then going to the main story. Been awhile since I played the game so I may miss details. Valvatorez is faithful to his promise to Artina. Now some people would want him to dispose of his promise. Though they possibly did not pay attention to where his promises makes up who he is as a character. This also differentiates him from other demons. He was a feared Tyrant 400 years ago,but this is quite obvious really,his short time with Artina did changed him. Not even Fenrich could get him to break his promise to her. So in a rational sense,Artina held more value than his goal to becoming the Symbol of Fear itself. Which was a disgust to Fenrich I believe. Anyway,upon encountering Artina in some place(forgot as I said it has been awhile) he instantly recognizes her. Now for 400 years,to be able to recognize someone who changed,that's actually impressive. Though he is uncertain that it is her. She denies being Sister Artina. Though mainly because she did not know how to confront him. In a word she felt guilty about causing his 400 years of suffering. Though at the time was more focused on Nemo(not sure why they didn't mention Nemo in the time leap...but eh...). Now when Artina was shot by Axel,Valvatorez seemed to have been reliving a nightmare. Now given on a rational sense,someone would only exhibit that kind of distress if the person holds great value to them. Anyway it shown once again that he is uncertain of whether Vulcanus is Artina during the A-Virus or something. When he turns away from her. Not only to refuse accepting the blood due to his promise to her,but because Fuka calls out her name. Which left Valvatorez in a distant state it would seem. If you think about it. Fuka,Desco,and Emizel were kind of irrelevant once Artina made her appearance within the main story. Fenrich still held worth with the moon and all. Though once Artina came into the story,even he was knocked down a level or two,but still held pretty good worth. Anyway,throughout the main story,last I remember he treats Artina different from the rest. Now that I think about it. It sorta had a D1 moment like how Laharl started to treat Flonne differently from the rest. Huh...just noticed that. Anyway,the most shot in the face evidence is in 10-6 boiling point last I remember. When Valvatorez became so carried away in his speech,"To protect the one I could not". It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out who he's talking about. When Fuka and Desco jumps on him after that,he denies it,and in a panic says"Sardines" though no one is buying it,and at that point,Fenrich just seemed to have given up trying to separate him and Artina last I remembered. Also second shot in the face evidence is the Artina's epilogue. This is also the default epilogue. You can also get it by placing Valvatoez and Artina under lover in the tree thing,but it's not necessary in the least. Man their story took awhile to explain -_- Even though the story could have been done better,as you can see,even with skipping ahead and possibly missing things,it took a damn good while to explain. D1 shows how Laharl matures because of Flonne scolding him whenever he does something wrong last I remember. Which leads to him eventually caring for her. Note>Remember when he actually says her name for the first time. This implies change. The major change in Laharl was when he allowed his mother to reincarnate. He was hit pretty hard emotionally. Though even Etna noticed his changing over time. D2. Now Adell may start off seeming homosexual,but hell,I'd be damned horrified of girls if a deranged one tried to take my soul and then barely escaping alive -_- . As you notice as well,he admits upfront he does not like girls,but he never mistreats Rozalin. That's more under the line of his morals and whatever. D2 does a fairly good job of showing their development throughout the story. For instance,how Rozalin put aside wanting to kill Adell,and saves him from Etna by admitting she does not know where her father is located. Adell as well does not become angry at her,knowing full well what it is like not to know your family. So in a sense,he starts to relate to her,and things just started to escalate from there,where eventually both learn to trust the other completely. Not gonna do D3. Been too long since I played it,and response could be biased since I don't like the game. So anyway,overall,D4 had to longest love story of the series ever. It continues even in the main story of D4. Starting right at the beginning with the promise. Honestly hate how they changed the main name to the port. Shoulda just stuck with,"A Promise Unforgotten". That original title had me buy the game on port,mainly because it instantly got me hooked. You start to think that the title is mysterious in a way. Like,"Cursed Memories". Then you start to wonder,what promise is so important that it can have the protagonist cling to it?. Then you see the intro and are like,"Ah...makes sense". D4 intro is the only one I have seen that actually gives information on the game before it even starts. You don't even need to read the lyrics to know. Though music wise,Sinful Rose is my favorite. Though those certain moments in D4 intro is perfect. The ending of it leading to Artina's demise was executed perfectly. Though overall,Last Engage could have been done better. Who knows,maybe the beats were off or something,or the set up of the song,etc. D3 intro just made me want to shoot myself -_- think I lost a few brain cells watching it,oh wait,I did. Well that aside,if I had to rate the games in order of romance. D4,D1,D2,D3. Though note,all Disgaea games revolves around tragedy,I am certain you notice that right from D1 with Laharl's mothers death influencing his decisions in his life. D2,Adell being trapped in a world of demons,his parents nowhere to be found and he tries to find them. Rozalin as well being Overlord Zenon,she was captured by the fake one and locked away until summoned by Adell's step mother I suppose you can call her. Even throughout the story is reflects on both of their lives but even more on Adell's. D3,Mao tries to surpass his father,which show growth throughout the story with him grieving over Almalz death(forgot how Almalz came back). It shows Almalz development from a nobody into a somebody. Forgot how they did Sapphire,have to replay the game again I guess. D4 A great Tyrant falling to Hades and losing his powers,because he met someone that impacted his life greatly. Unable to protect her and fulfill his promise,he keeps the end of their bargain. Now if you think about it,Valvatorez faced his punishment in Hades for all of his crimes. Which turns out the most painful thing for him would be 400 years of grief and guilt. Yeah...I need not speak anymore,this can go on forever -_- .

You did a very good job collecting romance and character development on most Disgaeas. By the way, I think that Flonne felt something more for Laharl, I thought because she usually gets jealous if there is a "rival" (Seen in the dlc of other Disgaeas) Although I don´t share your vision with Disgaea 3 (I loved it), besides you forgot Mao and Raspberry ... Well, I will not deny that yours was more subtle, but it's official they both have mutual feelings. Otherwise, perfect, you're better than most wikis out there on the internet.

Oh right I forgot Mao and Raspberyl. It was implied that Raspberyl did love Mao. As for the Flonne thing you could be right. It's been a while since I played the games.
