The JR on the car was a decent hint, just for a completely different reason. JR is the group of companies that run like 90% of the trains in Japan. There are literally JR lines everywhere in Japan. So that's not worth much. But what that JR did tell you was the general area. Each region has a different JR company and the regions have different colors associated with them. So the fact that it was a dark blue JR told you that you were somewhere in the JR west covered area.

This came up on my feed a year later, but like also I think it's definitely a non-Japanese perspective to just like assume that only one place sources rice. Like all prefectures have a certain amount of agricultural independence, but certain prefectures just happen to specialize in a particular crop. Like Tochigi is famous for strawberries but other prefectures also grow strawberries. Like Kagawa has its own Sanuki Hime Ichigo. Plus like, he's probably not aware of Japanese economic history where rice was currency so all places grew it because it was money.

The reason for CH being Switzerland is that it is based off of the latin name for Switzerland, Confederatio Helvetica (or something like that, not 100% on the spelling).
