AD had this race locked up before Spinhouse did his thing. What he did wasn't right but NASCAR wants this drama with OT and the Playoffs and they got it. Hope they're happy Edit: Thanks for the likes and the heart

did the 47 really wreck the 41 or did the 41 come down on the 47? I have relooked a few times and it REALLY seems like the 41 dumped himself. Lame either way but I thought the 47 caused it at first, but on reply after replay, it's changing my mind.

I'm shocked you forgot his B.S win at Daytona cut off race in '22 where a vast majority of the field wrecked out and Reddick played tail gunner to defend the 3 enroute to the win. That is FIVE races he's won. And all 5 of them are the flukiest wins in NASCAR that we've ever seen.

Dumbest finish in NASCAR history. This is the "entertainment" NASCAR wants. It will be all over their promos soon enough. Wish OT would go away. Much rather end under caution. If the playoffs have to stay, getting rid of win and your in (even 32nd in points gets in) and 1 race decides the championship would be nice.

"DO YOU KNOW how messed up that move was, that I'm agreeing with LOGANO!?" As a Logano hater for a decade, words have never resonated with me more than this. 😭 Now Elton Sawyer apparently said that penalties are NOT gonna be ruled out later this week, so who knows. But anything short of a hefty fine and points deduction will unacceptable. Denny actually mentioned in his post-race interview that his shoulder popped out on impact.

Actually it was 5th career win. But yeah I’m a fan of Austin’s but I agree with everything you said. Although TBF, he had the best car the last 29 laps and was originally gonna win it as a runaway with how fast he was all weekend till Stenhouse and Preece had other plans with 2 laps to go. But yeah, I’m ecstatic that he won but that was dirty the way he did it even though I initially didn’t think that till my excitement in the heat of the moment died off for me to finally calm down and watch it over and yeah, by removing the fanboy cap and viewing it as a regular viewer, that’s something I’ve changed my mind on which is what I wouldn’t have done as a kid. And if he gets penalized in any form, shape or fashion, I’ll gladly accept it and call it a day as it would be deserving without a doubt, but if he doesn’t then fine although hopefully if/when he gets his 6th win down the line, it needs to be way better than what we saw tonight. Fire rant Jett!

Dale has wrecked/got loose (for the win) a ton of people! More than 10 times out of his 72 wins. I grew up watching Dale do this! Just not that close together. NASCAR has been quiet about these incidents this year. The fans have complained over and over year after year about NASCAR getting to involved with drivers who do these things. Now you have an incident that has brought NASCAR back to its most popular point in history, the 90's. I agree that two in a row (Same Lap) is a bit off the cuff. But at the end of the day this was what made fans happy years ago. So I ask the fans, what do you want from your NASCAR? You want the cars to be the same, the drivers to be the same, or just AI drivers to take control of the cars! Many drivers over the years drove like this and it was Just part of racing. Today you have a group of fans that want pansy style racing. Just like the NFL, you can't hit here or there! It will be flag football before you know it and then it will be just played on a computer.... Racing is brutal and it should be. Sure a driver has every right to whine about being taken out. It drives rivalries and makes for great Broadcasting content and most of all Great Racing. Look around here on KZbin! This is a highly talked about event and YES there will be opinions from all sides. Butt Guess what? It is an incident that will be talked about more than if the 22 just drove in for the win! This proves that controversy = popularity! This is exactly what NASCAR needs to regain the popularity from the 90's! Just my two cents!!!
@K9RacingAndStuff
@K9RacingAndStuff 29 күн бұрын
In the 90s up into the mid-00s, NASCAR was very willing to penalize aggressive driving well beneath this. Ask Ricky Rudd. Or Kevin Harvick. Or Tony Stewart. Or Dale Sr himself. Or the fans that booed Sr after his attempt at a dump for the win at Bristol. The 90s was never this much an unmitigated slugfest, and the actual drivers from the 90s would agree.

I've had some time since Sunday night to let things settle. I'm still not happy about how Austin Dillon won that race. I'm 50/50 on the Joey Logano contact but I'm on Joey's side this time and I almost never say that. I'm not a fan of the bump and dump in any circumstance. What happened after that crossed the line for me. The radio was clear as day and wrecking Denny Hamlin, however you feel about him, was uncalled for. You can't turn your car into a bulldozer. All I will say is "What goes around comes around." Overall, I gave the race itself a solid 80/100. The option tire worked pretty well and the racing improved a bit in my opinion. Still a way to go on the short track package but now things are going in the right direction. Too bad all anyone is going to talk about is that f--d up finish.

The real question is HOW do you punish this?? If he's suspended for it he gets a waiver, you let it go whats stopping an SHR driver, Hemric, Haley, or the Spire drivers from doing the same thing if they're in the same position?? The easiest way to fix it if they wanna keep this format is to either strip of the win, put him 2 laps down for wreckless driving on the spot or DQ him, suspend him the next race or 2 and not allow the win to count for the playoffs, or no waiver period with the suspension. This precedent is dangerous with Daytona coming up in the next few weeks and frankly also dangerous anywhere else if strategy goes bonkers and we get the guys at the back up front.

Now Jett my question is do you think Nascar could penalize Austin Dillon, his Crew Chief and the Owner? Now if Austin Dillon gets a points penalty, could they removes his playoffs from Richmond unless if he wins one of the 3 races? Another possibility is could Nascar removed Austin Dillon win and put him finish the last car on the lead lap & give the win to Denny Hamlin? Another question is if Austin Dillon gets suspended, will Nascar won't granted Austin Dillon a Playoff Waiver & will his win be takin away and give it to Denny Hamlin? (Austin Dillon will not be disqualified but his win could still be taking away and finish the last car on the lead lap). But I got a feeling a Crew Chief & Richard Childress could both be fined and suspension & Austin Dillon could either get fined or his win be takin away.

The real problem is NASCAR refusing to officiate dirty driving. Drivers at most local short tracks know they can get black flagged for obviously running over someone. Officiating racing isn't rocket science. The idea of having a race with virtually no rules for on-track conduct makes this sort of nonsense inevitable. 😞

Understand the frustration, but this is what Nascar wanted. Am reminded of what Harvick said after failing to advance after Martinsville, a few years back: "These championships aren't like winning like Petty and Earnhardt used to win them. You have to put them together three weeks at a time". Since the Chase/Playoff system was introduced in 2004, it has been a way for Nascar to be more entertainment based than a true sports league. As for why Nascar would want this, think Nascar might be following at least in part in part, with the whole "controversy creates cash" mindset made famous by Eric Bischoff. By trying to appeal to fans & sponsors by offering something new/different, that will have people talking all week. The issue/s many fans including myself have is, though it might work in the short term, it would most likely hurt long term growth. Much like after the Monday Night War (WWE/WCW), there was decline that WWE has been slow to recover from.

On the one hand....Dillon was gonna win that race. And he would have EARNED it. He drove to the front and took the lead. Then came Wrecky Spinhouse...was this intentional?....we will never know. By the rules...with the stupid overtime....Logano took the lead, because Dillon didn't have a good restart. So...Dillon to himself..."no fucking way am I going to let this get away". He intentionally wrecks Logano and then, not to leave any stone unturned, right/rear hooks Hamlin....to take the win. Dear NASCAR....this is NOT a good look. Dillon doing this for a desperate win, and getting away with it....that sends a signal to every other driver on the track. It will happen again. But then....Dillon is RC's precious little grandbaby. So nothing will happen to him.

I agree with you on most points except the proper resolution to make it right. The proper remedy is a disqualification for Dillon and a reversion back to the prior lap's running order as if the caution had flown on the white flag lap. The absolute least remedy is a suspension, exclusion from the playoffs, and an encumbered win designation. Richard Childress is better than this, and how dare anyone compare this with Dale Earnhardt.

NASCAR as a collective entity can't get out of their own way to save itself. Every step forward is met with two steps back. This race is the epitome of that. Literally everything before Lap 398 was probably the best Richmond race I've seen, period. I think the prime/option falloff difference was near-perfect, and I think Stage 2 showed that an O/P/P, P/P, and P/P/P strategies had pretty fair parity (running options on the back portion of a stage seemed to not be a good call though, and it shows with McDowell and Suarez being the only early Option runners whose races actually improved). Modern NASCAR is just so fucking stupid. Which seems to line up a lot to how I feel like people wanna act stupid and can't bear the cost of it. Because it's funny or something. The fuck.

Just now to many whinners and no real men driving the cars. Having the night to sleep on it, this whole situation only happens because of the goofy system of win and your in. Dillon had a good race up until that OT but he only does this cause if he wins he’s guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. In the winston format I don’t see a reason why he does this cause there’s simply no value in doing a move like this other than 5-10 points in the standings, where in that format consistency was the name of the game. As you said he’s 32nd in points in the year, in the winston format he has no incentive to wreck his way to win. It’s a damn shame that flashy wins and viral moments like this are rewarded and not those who’ve been consistent all year long

Someone (Ryan Millington) few weeks ago at Hickory spun (similar to what Dillon just did) the leader Connor Hall out for win, they just minute later DQ'd Millington for that intentional spin. Win by the way went to Ronnie Basset Jr because he crossed the finish line ahead of Hall after the spin.

I love your enthusiasm dawg for real but please lay of the murder 💩 please 😂! It’s racing, it’s dangerous obviously! Now I really didn’t have an issue with what he did to Logano and in fact I think Logano lost his credibility when he said he was 4 car links ahead going into turn 3, when in fact it was at most a car link, if he would have been 4 car links ahead going into turn 3, even an over the top dive bomb wouldn’t have gotten him to his bumper! Now what he did to Hamlin is another story but you said it and we all know that this is what they have created! I will say this being an old school fan so to speak, and that’s I’ve seen and heard all the crying about how this makes nascar look bad and nascar is boring! I do think your argument about him being 32 in points has some steam, because I had no idea he was that far back in points which does make it very odd for new fans I get that BUT, I guarantee that if NASCAR went back to the old point system before PLAYOFF races, even the OLD SCHOOL FANS WOULD MAYBE NOT AT FIRST MORE SO BECAUSE THEY DON’T WANT TO HAVE TO ADMIT IT, BUT EVENTUALLY WOULD BITCH ITS BORING!!!

As to Logano and Hamlin crying about Dillion, tough. How many times as Logano and Hamlin have put people in the wall to win. On restarts nobody wanted to be next to either either Logano or Hamlin. Both have put people people the wall to win, even teammates! Been attending and watching NASCR since 1964. YOU young man have no idea what your talking about.
