She kept getting too personal with all the patients she worked on she was the worse in honestly they all started the same the only difference is that Meredith was always going to get special treatment from someone in that hospital her mother worked at, and had an affair at so even if she was never with Sheppard she was going to get the surgeries regardless plus it her house they stay rent free touching all her things she's allowed to do who she wants when she wants and we forget they all been sleeping with some intern or doctor by season 3

This is one of the few moments where Izzy was right. Didn’t go about it the best way but Meredith was getting special treatment. She was getting the best surgeries for herself because she was sleeping with Derek- and sure, technically it was on Derek for choosing her and not the rest of the attending, but it’s literally because they’re together. Grey didn’t seem to mind getting all of the opportunities either, so she’s not clean either.

No, no, she was totally right about the favoritism, but she was a B🤬 too sometimes! And even though Izzy came from the trailer park, she became an over entitled model and didn't have to struggle financially with loan payments and student poor phases like everyone else did. Not to mention the huge chip on her shoulder about her upbringing and the way she perceived her former career. Meredith was one of the first ones to show her friendship and didn't judge her. And allowed her to stay in her home which was near the hospital and gave all of them a competitive edge. Against the other surgical residents.

But u can't force people to open up to u and tell u their secrets, especially when u act all self righteous and judgey when u find out the secret. She basically accused Meredith of sleeping with Derrick for special treatment, when we all know that's not what happened. She met him 1st b4 she knew and it just happened that Derrick would pick her because she had good ideas and he also wanted to spend more time with her. Was that fair when other people needed to be taught too? No. But that was more Derrick's issue not Meredith. She didn't ask him to give her preferential treatment but she always proved her worth and why she deserved being there. U can't change the reality that Meredith and Christina were just better, so u can't blame them if they got chosen more by Derrick and Burk coz they showed a naturally aptitude for their specialties. It's 1 thing to accuse them of quid pro quo, another thing entirely to just be jealous of their natural talent which gave them more opportunities. And the fact remains, Izzy was just jealous most of the times. There was no quid pro quo or inappropriate relationship. Meredith was always deserving and proved herself every time.

And Meredith didn't want their relationship to be seen as if she was sleeping her way to the top for surgeries. And when Derrick would give her special treatment she called him out on it. Meredith advanced herself because she was good, not because she was sleeping with Derrick. She was smart and had good ideas and actually was a better doctor than izzy. Izzy was often jealous of Meredith and Christina because they did getting better opportunities. But it wasn't because of Burk and Shepherd. It was because they were just better, with Christina being a genius and Meredith being a child prodigy. Izzy, Alex and George just had to work much harder to make up for the fact that they weren't as naturally talented and didn't have a world renowned surgeon as a parent. So yeah, at times izzy was jealous of the opportunities Meredith had and would wrongly lash out when she didn't know the whole freaking story. She just made assumptions and judge Meredith.

​@@jayg1316 I've watched the earlier seasons of Grey's so many times, and I've yet to find a single thing that Meredith did that was as much or more illegal than what izzy did. What izzy did with denny should've cost her her license. She should've never been allowed to continue practicing medicine let alone be hired back by Seattle Grace hospital. Yes Meredith has done some messed up things like swap the placebo for the active drug in the case of Adele's alzheimer drug trial but that wasn't illegal. It was morally and medically unethical and costed them their trial accreditation but not illegal and didn't result in the death of a patient. What izzy did, however, was illegal, unethical and did result in a patient dying and another losing out on life-saving treatment. It would've also cost her her license and her freedom coz she would've went to jail.

While Derek did giver her special treatment, Meredith was also a good surgeon. Which is why even when pissed off at Meredith, he still chose her. Izzy was an awful doctor plain and simple. And jealous of Meredith as a whole. Meredith was great despite who her mother was but all Izzy sees is a legacy so any good Meredith does on her own it's because of who her mom is, it's because of who her boyfriend is, etc. Izzy just isn't a natural and would rather complain then own up to her own shortcomings.

So I have an opposite take on this; based on skill and talent, Meredith and Christina are the top two. Has been that way since the beginning.. Izzy has been jealous of them since the get go also, considering they have a tight knit friendship and Izzy was sidelined from that. Izzy was used to playing pretty, and being pettied because of her hard life when she was younger, she doesn’t get that anymore, nor does she have the skills compared to Christina and Meredith. She rightfully is mad as it SEEMED she was getting special treatment, but to talk to a colleague in front of their boss like that is just inappropriate behavior. She always acted so self righteous and complained about how selfish Meredith and Christina were when they'd exclude her from things. But then u realise it was just her petty jealousy, like a little kid mad that the other girls didn't include her in their clique. As if they were obligated to let her into their deepest darkest thoughts and secrets. But if u actually watch the show and analyze it deeper, you'd see that as much as Meredith (the main female lead) and Christina (her bff) can be a bit cold and detached, Izzy is really actually the worst. Yeah Meredith and Christina r portrayed as robots and "dark and twisty", with cynical outlooks on life but once u know their history u understand why Meredith is the way she is and why she has abandonment issues and why Christina doesn't form attachments. The key is neither of them pretends to be something they aren't. They both know that they r broken and don't pretend as if they r anything more. While Izzy has this self righteous aura and acts as if she's morally better and more upright than them (or anyone else for that matter), when she's actually done some of the WORST and most immoral things on the show. Like cutting Denny's L-vad wire to steal a heart transplant for him and pursuing and sleeping with George only AFTER he starts dating and marries Callie. She didn't know she had all these feelings for him b4 when he was her friend and available to her, but suddenly when callie comes and sees him as more, then Izzy wants George too and bad mouths Callie and finds all sorts of things to complain about her to George. And when she finally gets him after they cheat, she doesn't want him anymore and realise they don't actually romantically love each other. Oh and then she leaves Alex after he marries her and takes care of her when she has had her brain tumor. Her charact3r, is legit the absolute worse!

Izzy was used to being the center of attention, the pretty girl who got special treatment,(she was an underwear model before becoming a doctor) she was just salty that Shepard wasn’t falling all over himself to talk to Izzy like most ppl did. The “hot girl” ALWAYS losses her mind when another girl starts getting attention and out shinning her hence why she was being a big baby and bringing personal issues into the workplace. YES Derek and Meredith were wrong for their relationship but is wasn’t solely that he was attracted to her it was bc she was a brilliant surgeon, not as good as Christina but she was into cardiology (definitely better than Izzy) Izzy was always just a snotty stuck up little brat. I couldn’t stand her character and makes since that the actress is a nightmare to work with or atleast that’s what her costars and directors and writers said in working with her

Growing up Meredith was right but older, it’s Izzy. Maybe if she didn’t sleep with him she wouldn’t have had months and years of drama and sadness. I have watched Greves and this is like reason 1000,000 why I hate Izzy. First off if I remember this point in time, they just moved in never had a conversation about this topic common courtesy to give them a heads up insulting your landlord, and your coworker is just toxic and she does this for everyone for no reason she's jealous, but she is dating a hot doctor. Rather than sitting down with her coworker and her landlord and discussing would happen last night, she acts like a teenager rather than an adult personally, I know Izzy supposed to be "compassionate one" it comes across as really fake and nasty like she was rude for no reason and ran off her husband, Alex. A compassionate person doesn't run off and stick their husband with the bill wow she's in the middle of chemo don't make a patient get worse, causing his death and stealing a heart honestly at least in Bailey's position, she's just a viably angry because it is favoritism Izzy does not sound like she's coming from a place from that

For real? She asked for roommates to help pay rent in the house she inherited. Now, she is keeping them up all night by having really loud sex every night, and no one can sleep. Not to mention, she was sleeping with their boss, one of the attending residents, while she (and the other doctors here aside from bailey) are interns. While I technically think that puts the attending doctor (Dr. Shepard) at fault because of the power dynamic, you can see why the other interns like Izzy, exhausted from hearing her having loud sex all night, are not thrilled that she is sleeping with one of the few attending surgeons who decide their futures at the hospital, as it seems she is getting special treatment.
