For the first time, our role in archon quest is a spectator over the main character. Because the protagonist is Neuvilette, and the hero is Furina and Focalor. And I can't even complain. Fontaine Archon quest is another great masterpiece since Sumeru arc.. Also really sad as well. Genshin Impact? More like Tragic Impact.

Furina realizing that the people didn't dissolve at the end of the cutscene gets me every time I see it. I think most would agree that the writing in Genshin has really hit it's stride but writing aside, can we talk about how damn good the audio design is in the game. They do such a great job of using audio cues to amplify the emotions of a scene.

Fr tho, the way they take the mysteious/sad fontaine theme and crank up the emotions by putting it in major key then play it over her realising she didn't just fail and get an entire nation of people dissolved gets me every time That and Neuvi ascending into the sky with the super emotional opera, it's so damn good

I'm wondering, are there multiple writing teams or something for Genshin? Because while this archon quest was incredible, the way Traveler and Paimon treat Furina during her story quest felt so disrespectful and offputting considering everything they know about her at that point.

I do agree with you but at the same time many people liked her projected persona already and many also suspected that it was all an act from early on (myself included). It was pretty obvious from the start that there was going to be more to her than just being brat.

@@jellybonesmasterfue45 Part of me feels like she was actually inspired by Marie Antoinette. Both weren't actually annoying brats, they were just misunderstood and trying to help the best they could. Like Marie never actually said Let Them Eat Cake or whatever, she tried helping Louis figure out what to do with the country and ended up dying because of it; much like how Furina almost got killed and Focalor actually got executed.

Indeed. If not from Focalors, then at least from Traveler & Co. That trial was borderline psychological torture for Furina, and none of the organizers didn't even bother to apologize afterwards.

And she couldn't speak because of the dire consequences for Fontaine. Traveler & Co were unwittingly coercing her into dooming the entire nation. I think that deserves an apology.

9:20 "This is very Bible, Noah's Ark". Yeap. I mean, i don't see many people pointing this out, but the whole of Fontaine's story has had MANY biblical references. Furina........ is Jesus.... like... she walks on water, gets tempted by Satan to spill the beans (the traveler), and a part of her dies for the sins of her people. Now I'm not a Christian by any means, but I still dig the way they executed everything. It's not an original story, but the execution is SO on point. Friggin amazing.

He's an unspoken hero and the true underdog of this entire quest. If he hadn't delayed the Narwhal for 45 abyssal days, not even Neuvillete would have had enough time to both defeat the Narwhal and save the people. If this doesn't stop the fanbase from hating on Childe then they truly don't deserve good things.

Actually at the end where Lynette says the line about the weeping on the throne and the sins of the people being washed away is different bow. If you remember in the 4.0 trailer her specifically says “and only the hydro archon will remain, weeping on her throne.” But as we all now know, it’s not the hydro archon, and he says Furina instead 😭

fontaine archon quests felt like a movie fr, all the stories in the other regions were good sure but i dont think anything ended quite this satisfying. the looming peril of fontainians dissolving and the lore of what exactly furina up to was by far the most immersed ive been. favorite region so far 💙

I think Navia, if she even had a glider on her (because it is not guaranteed, canonically it is fully possible that she had no glider), she did not use it samely as you cannot use it if you get launched and are falling. It is dazed state, you cannot even plunge from. So... game-wise it does make sense :D

This quest was so good. But the ending after the whale was kinda weak. Furina disappeared. She said the prophecy was wrong and we never knew if Neuvillette told her the truth or what happened with her. She should have been with him at the end to send us off. Maybe answer some question about our sibling, because Neuvillette doesn't know them, but maybe Furina does through her investigation run into the sibling.

Neuvillete sais on one of his lines at the end of the quest that he told her everything that happened with foscalors, furina (paraphrased) quote "was neither saddened nor comforted, she was just tired and wanted to rest".
