Wow where has this song been all my life?! This has touched me so deeply. My partner is really unwell with a rare brain disease and awaiting surgery for the last 4 months and listening to this song has released up 4 months worth of stress, pent up tears and worry and just sobbed my heart out. I'm so sorry. I know what you mean about the song. When my husband left after 11 years together, I wore this cd out. Now when I listen to it I think of my precious baby boy, Bright Eyes, a cat that got outta my car when I was homeless. Anyway, you and your partner are in my prayers. God bless.

Sigh. I wish that I could erase the torment of mental distress that plagues so many desperate people. The fight seems so unfair, so overwhelming and exhausting. I'm a nurse and I have worked in the past for an acute mental health facility and it was amazing to see just how much that I had in common emotionally with people who have reached a broken end. Honestly, except for a few different unlucky/unwise turn of events and choices, I could have been with them. Even now, as I work in a regular hospital, all I still see is the same torment over and over. I see it so much more because people are most vulnerable when they are very ill and afraid. Many become desperate, lonely, and despairing and open up. They don't want to wake up many times, or just want sedation to escape. It doesn't matter how well they have managed to disguise their mental struggles with outward "success", the struggle doesn't always make sense and medications usually just mask the symptoms with a clouded and numb mind, and when the effects wear off they are afraid of waking up. They feel that loss of control no matter what they choose. I believe our modern time allows us to isolate more, integrate less and have needs met with little effort. Yet all the while we are continually bombarded with illusions of "ideal" life from media and lose perspective. Thank you J.R. for being an example of transparency about your struggles. The only real answer is to help each other in support, and to fight the tendencies to stay isolated, guilt - ridden and embarrassed over the common emotions we all share as humans but are too scared to be open about for fear of being judged.

with little words this song speaks volume for any person going thru depression or addiction because you truly don't wanna wake up when you feel so empty or can't seem where your life is heading and all you wonder is how u ended up here and days go on only to think sometimes that theres gotta be something more everyday you go out see the same things the same roads the same trees everything and you wonder is this really life like go to school get a job and then everyday wake up and rinse and repeat till you die.. i always felt like there had to be more to life like it can't just be like this. i feel theres lots of ppl that thought this and wanted to impact the world more or that it was more than to make money then we die... all I'm gonna end this with is enjoy your 20s they go so danm fast its not funny don't let someone decide you do what you want not what others want you will be much happier later in life
