But for Disillusion, countless of times this song played and then nostalgia kicks in, and I was back in 2008. Never in a million years that I'll get tired of this song. 'Old but gold' is exactly the right words to describe it.

"Skip the '06 series?" Unless it's an animation thing, I don't quite buy it. Also, this song is a reworked version of the actual game opening music in Fate/Stay "This Illusion" so, unless you have played the game, watching the 06 series and getting the feels is a appropriate

This song captures the dreamy, mysterious atmosphere that the 2006 adaptation of Fate/Stay Night showcased (my favorite route of all the three. SEIBAAAAAA). Not only were the settings held seemingly always during the night, it showed how really foreign and out of place an ancient battle between Seven Masters and Seven Servants really is.

totally agree, especially the out of place part! the latest by Ufotable are indeed beautiful but somehow they are more to action hero style rather than the creepy, mysterious and sad feel the 2006 version provide, showing just how destructive it can be with unseen entity clashing swords in a modern neighbourhood.

what I love about the original is that its not overpowering like Aimer's voice is in comparison (not by much but a little).
