Some of the shorts in those 40s packages movies I had seen as a kid as part of the Wonderful world of Disney that was on Sunday nights or on a short lived show called the Mouse Factory from around 1973. Jonny Appleseed and the last part Of Echabod Crane I clearly remember. The later shown as part of the Halloween episode of the previously mention tv shows. I also recently got a hold of most of these package films. The first two, I wanted, so I could get to know the character Jose Carioca, who appeared with Donald in both films. But really they should have released those two on the same set. The Mickey and the Beanstalk is interesting, as there are two versions. This one has Jiminey Cricket introducing it, whilst when it was shown on tv, they had the character Ludwig Von Drake introducing it. The only one I haven't yet got is the one you liked the best. I do remeber the Peter and the Wolf short which is very good. I also had the Little Golden Book of Peter and the Wolf as well as Bongo.

Classical 2d animated films were still popular when we were little until CGI films were made as teenagers and then 2d came back as grown-ups then got reverted to CGI again. I hope one day 2d animation comes back and to be made as a film based on The Princess and the Pea with a first black prince and 2nd latin Disney Princess

Am I the only one who finds "The Black Cauldron" TERRIFYING? In my opinion, THAT is the definition of an animated horror. To this day, I STILL can't watch it without it scaring the heck out of me. I first saw it when I was like 4 or 5, and it was SUPER dark, and even gave me nightmares. I didn't watch it again for yrs. One day, when I was 18, I decided to try it again, as it was on Netflix. I didn't even get halfway through before turning it off. That's how scary it is. It kinda reminds me of my FAV animated SD movie, "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. That is the SCARIEST AND DARKEST SD movie I've ever seen in my life. Like Black Cauldron, I watched Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island at a VERY young age. I was only two. After watching it once, I couldn't watch it for yrs, and changed the channel whenever it played on TV. Then one day, as a 10 yr old kid, my FAV song in the movie started playing in my head. I didn't want to, but I decided to give the movie another try. This time, I was like "Why was I scared of this?", and fell in love with it, watching it multiple times. That's how you know a movie's good. If it scares the heck out of you and you can't watch it for yrs, and then one day, you give it a try, and find out you ACTUALLY LOVE it.

Amazing collection! I have some questions because I am very interested in starting to colect disney movies on Bluray. Is ihis collection going to be expanded in the future with every new movie they release? Is there a complete disney collection with all the movies (eg, Lilo and Stitch 2 and 3), or are there only collections with just the first movies? Are all disney movies released on a 1080p Bluray? I use google now for hours and I simply can't find any answer to these questions. There is no statement on any disney website, nothing on the disney wiki and in general basicly no information. I can't even find a place to buy this disney classic collection. I wish disney would release ALL movies they ever published on normal 1080p bluray discs, with nice cover images and without any cardboard etc. . These classic collection covers or diamond edition covers looks great but I prefere the original movie cover like on any default edition bluray a movie is getting released on. Without any additional and ugly "diamond edition border" and without any special cardboard over. These classic collection covers looks nice but the movie covers do really not fit to a shelf with a ton of other animatin bluray movie because they look different with the cardboard.

Awesome collection. The Australia/NZ numbered collection don't have package films or 'The Wild' included - for example WreckItRalph is number 45. When you are describing Brother Bear, you say your description may be hazy because you havent seen it in quite a while then LITERALLY the next sentence you say you watched it recently 😂

I must have this collection even if it's missing some and I'm from the U.S. You might have gotten them by now though. I think the artwork is amazing and it's total BS that Europe gets great art and sets like that, but the U.S. doesn't. Do you know if the Italian classic set comes with English? I saw a video of an italian guy opening a Disney classics set of all 52 with a great box set and I nearly lost my shiz! Everything was sealed and everything. just so beautiful. It's not fair! Lol.

The Wild isn't actually part of the line up of Disney Animated features here in the U.S. instead it's Dinosaur and Winnie The Pooh (2011) which was Disney's very last 2D animated film.
