Although 'Cars 3' does not feature a crash or wreck involving any of the veteran racers--except for Lightning McQueen--fans can speculate one may have occurred prior to the events of the movie. Talented customizer Sensei Luminous crafted about half of the 'Cars 3 'Piston Cup stock car fleet for this Collectors’ Link collaboration, including Cal Weathers (Dinoco), Bobby Swift (Octane Gain), Brick Yardley (Vitoline) Brian Spark (Leak Less), Jack DePost (Tow Cap), Speedy Comet (Blinkr), Ralph Carlow (Lil' Torquey Pistons), Todd Marcus (No Stall), Rex Revler (Gask-its), Buck Bearingly (View Zeen), Jimmy Cables (Intersection), Dud Throttleman (Mood Springs), Parker Brakeston (N2O Cola), Ernie Gearson (Spare Mint) and Tommy Highbanks (Faux Wheel Drive).

Thank you! That was indeed the goal with a few of these, especially Buck - for as many cars that get totaled in a wreck, there’ll be some that make it through with only scrapes and paint splatters. Buck is the epitome of that - he weaved his way through with only minimal damage!

I’ve made lots of damaged customes in my day. It’s especially hard to perfectly cut the hood out. Sensei did a great job!

Thank you! Cutting Speedy’s hood was definitely the trickiest part, it took a lot of patience to not have the tool fly off the hood’s seam while I was cutting.

I headcanon that during a race, he was racing hard for position and ended up getting turned by Phil Tankson (see the black on his left corner) and ended up flipping, hitting both Phil and the pavement before landing onto all 4 wheels again. So that explains what happened to Parker! 😉

I actually remember doing a drawing about this and they were racing at the Los Angeles motor speedway and it was kind of a similar crash to the one at the Florida 500 when one car loses control hits one or two other cars and starts skidding towards lightning McQueen and then he swerves out the way and the rest is history
