Man, Disney had a goldmine with their channels back in the day. Disney having 4 channels, after already replacing the well-loved Jetix, Cinemagic definitely sat alongside these, being an awesome place to watch older Disney cartoons and films. Just a shame that Sky Movies Disney was a comparatively less quality channel, despite it still airing new and old Disney releases.

As an Asian, I had never heard of the channel until I watched a YTP from DaThings which had the Kim Possible intro as a source, but it was in widescreen from 'Disney Cinemagic HD', so I was surprised to see it in widescreen as pay TV in Singapore wasn't available in HD at the time I watched the show. I'd later get to watch more older Disney Channel shows in widescreen in the early 2010s when I upgraded to a newer HD package from the pay TV provider which included their 'Kids' group in HD and Disney Channel Asia would re-run those shows past midnight. Upgrading to a widescreen TV when I moved into a new flat did play a part in the role even though it was a Samsung plasma TV that ran at 720p resolution and I sadly had to sell off the nice 2002 Sony Trinitron TV my dad had (and that I watched standard definition Disney, Nick, and CN on) when moving due to a lack of space.

I honestly just love how Cinemagic aired Disney TV Cartoons in HD when other stations wouldn't. If not for that, we wouldn't have widescreen footage of House of Mouse or Tarzan and Jane. I never had it cause I live in the US but it seems cool. Reminds me how Widescreen Filmore is only on UK Disney+

I was born in England. And I remember watching Disney cinematic over and over again when I was little. I remember this was the channel where I watched the Pixar movies like the first 2 Toy Story movies, a bugs life, monsters Inc, finding nemo and cars. It was changed on March 2013. Around my birthday. Sky cinema disney wasn’t as good as Disney cinematic. I missed Disney cinematic. I am actually surprised Disney cinematic still existed in other country’s. But I remember getting Disney plus and it reminded me so much of Disney cinematic. It was oddly nostalgic. Until they put the 20th century fox movies. Also fun fact. I got Disney plus on the last day of quarantine in 2020.

I legit thought this channel was just a weird dream I had since barely anyone around my social circle actually knows it or even remember it. This was actually how I got to watch a lot of old Toon Disney/Disney Channel shows as a kid, which funnily enough I have more memories watching those than the actual movies on the channel, probably because it was the only way I could watch them back then. And I know you said this was a Europe exclusive, but it has a twist! Because the French feed also broadcasted in other francophone countries, notably in Africa, as a Lebanese who lives in Ivory Coast, I had the chance to see it myself since I had cable. This is kind of common for a lot of French radio/channels but other than that it kinda sucks other parts of the world didn’t get it.

It’s about time someone talks about this channel! :) Disney Cinemagic is one and the only channel I can always reminisce ‘Every Single Day’ of my life. Growing up with CRT TVs, I remember being upstairs either in my mum or me and my dad’s room watching Disney Cinemagic with no limits at all! Adding to that, I use to be in Primary School drawing the bloody logo and what not and I just loved the channel so much as like it’s my comfort zone (which it is and always will be)! I miss the channel every damn day and it’s always gonna remain a part in my heart. Thanks for making this vid dude! ;) Also, if anyone knows who did the continuity bumpers/idents (Now/Next/Later) from Sep 2007-Mar 2013, what’s his name? Does anyone recognise the voiceover dude? 👀

Great video, yes TV just isn't like what it used to be. It sucks but that's just the way it goes, broadcasters are starting to go with the idea of "streaming is future!!!", it's no wonder some channels are even closing because of it. Streaming is cool yes but it just doesn't feel the same.

I absolutely agree. I honestly don't understand why broadcasters say "streaming is the future" when they constantly remove content from their streaming services left and right, that's why I expect a big boom of physical media soon.

I remember watching Disney Cinemagic a lot from like 2010? until it’s closure it was probably my favourite Disney Channel at one point kinda (**cough** Disney XD) I love how the channel didn’t just air movies but old Disney/Toon Disney reruns as well It’s such a shame the channel doesn’t exist anymore + Sky Movies/Cinema Disney wasn’t that very good… Anyways great retrospective on Cinemagic.

Really? Like it’ll just be one channel? Does Disney channel in Sweden have a Disney Junior block, if not then I imagine it’ll be like how it was here in the U.S. before Disney Junior had a channel. Basically, in the morning (from 6am-2pm during school season and 6am-10am during summer and other school breaks) it’s all Disney Junior shows and then it switches to Disney channel shows the rest of the day/night.
