Hi Randy. New subscriber here. I enjoyed your video of comparison. I have only cruised with Carnival so far but this year I'm trying new lines.

The first AND second entree are included but if you want a 3rd, 4th .... it is an additional $5 per entree. They do have shows on longer cruises (we have never done shorter than 5 nights) in the theatre but are also not Broadway shows. They are shows created and produced directly by/for Carnival and usually one will be musical themed such as '80s music, Motown, Rock of Ages etc. We have done right about 20 Carnival cruises and wholly understand that Carnival is not for everyone (we are now 50+ too as well as Dual Income No Kids) but still find that the value for the price meets our needs. Your comment about the staff on board is so spot on, I have had the odd meal that was so-so or an issue with some other aspect but have never once had an issue with staff. They know your name from the beginning and will bend over backwards to try to accommodate any request, even if it is unreasonable. Have there been some misses, certainly, but what cruise line does not have the odd miss? I like the open attitude that you took into this experiment. I have learned things will only ever be as good as you let them be. Also being a person who calls it as he sees it and has been around the world on Carnival, I think your assessment is a very fair one.

I disagree with the second being included. I went on carnival, had a terrible entree and asked for a 2nd and they told me it was additional. I never went back to carnival since. The food in the dining was terrible and after the 4th night, my friend and I just went to the buffet for the rest of the cruise. AS you said, Carnival isn't for everyone and after the second time, I will likely not do it again.

Is it right time taking cruise or wait until summer?
@fiftyplustraveler
@fiftyplustraveler 4 күн бұрын
@@4kEntertainmentTV thank you for the question! So I have cruised in the spring, late summer, and now. Spring was great, summer was fine, but beware of hurricanes, this trip like I said I got a bit queasy due to all the motion. So I would say Spring, then summer, then winter??? As far as preference.

How would anyone know how to navigate around a ship before ypu have ever been on it?
@steveostrosky540
@steveostrosky540 2 күн бұрын
@@gambla1823 Well, you start by downloading the deck plan of your ship. Most lines have deck-by-deck diagrams of each class of ship. Next, you watch KZbin, because there is no shortage of poor-quality, low-information videos that people take on their shaky phones that still give you a decent walkthrough of a ship.

xConquest is actually the worst Carnival Ship. Compare Disney with the Mardi Gras (XL) class or Vista Class .

I clicked on this (sadly) because I'm over 50 and thought (mistakenly) that I'd get some good info. Disappointingly, no. For starters, and for people over 50, the biggest upside to Carnival over Disney is there is a casino on a Carnival cruise (almost ALL cruise lines, except for Disney). "Well, I don't like to gamble." You are not the norm. Second, there are less children on a Carnival cruise, per capita, for obvious reasons. So you didn't even hit on the biggest advantages for over-50 cruisers who don't want to deal with y'all stinking, dirty, loud, undisciplined children. And if you're going to do a comparison, then how about you actually compare?? You did a 3-day on Carnival. Have you done a 3-day on Disney? What were the demographics? What was the cost comparison? Where is the value? I mean, for real. "Nothing was open before 9am." You mean the hot tubs weren't open, which is all you seem to care about. The walking track is open (older people love to get up and walk). Coffee bar is open. Main dining room is open for breakfast. Spa is open. Gym is open. Lido is open - grab up one of those deck chairs! Serenity is open -- and where was the review of the Serenity (adults only) section of the ship? Does the Conquest even have one? Did you go anywhere besides the swimming pool and hot tubs? Many 50+ have more $$$ to spend (because we don't have rugrats) - you go on a cruise on the cheap and want to compare? No, sir. Also, why would you book on an older ship (I think I know why, and it's $$$)? What was the average age of the Disney ships you've been on vs. the Carnival ship you went on? Why not go on one of Carnival's newest ships, which are doing 3- and 4-day cruises out of Miami and loaded with far more amenities (and no rust) than the Conquest? No one cruise line is for everyone. As a matter of fact, neither Disney or Carnival are the best for 50+ cruisers. But you are a Disney SIMP and it's painfully obvious. I've done Disney and out of all of the cruise lines, the experience for a 50+ cruiser is the worst (unless you have your rugrats or grandrats with you and they are the center of your widdle universe). 50+ cruisers want to gamble, eat, drink, relax, catch some shows, listen to good music, and overall chill. You didn't address 3/4 of the stuff I want to know as a 50+ cruiser. Overall, a grade of D. F for delivery, D for organization, D for the (lack of) relevant information for your targeted demographic, and a D for your obvious bias towards Disney.

My problem is they allow smoking on that ship in the casino and when people have to walk through it to get to the other side like the ship he's on, its terrible (yes you can go around it by going up a floor, but that's inconveniencing people going up and then back down and discourages anyone who wants to gamble but don't want second hand smoke). And yes, I am young. No, I don't like to gamble. Disney is actually really good at keeping children quiet and entertained, so I don't notice them. And the service is perfection for relaxing. My mom refuses any other cruiseline that isn't Disney and she calls Mickey a rat. As you can see, she's not a Disney fan. Their food is also excellent unlike CArnival where my friend and I called it quits after 4 nights of bad food and stuck to the buffet (I wasn't the only one who thought the food in the dining room was bad either as we were with a party of 20 people there for a high school graduation of a kid I used to babysit). Also, do not attack a youtuber for giving his opinion. They work hard and he gave his opinion on what he experienced. He had a lot more nice things to say about that ship than I did when I did that cruise twice. He also said he would give a direct comparison. Certain people do Disney and while he's probably 20-30 years older than me, I am the type of cruiser he is, and he hit the points people going from Disney to Carnival would talk about. His target audience, BTW, is people wondering how a disney cruiser sees carnival for this video. He hit the points. To me, it appears you have a bias towards carnival attacking someone who is giving his view of his first carnival cruise and the things he liked. As someone who didn't like carnival, I was curious on his opinion as maybe I just had bad luck with my experience. From the experience, I rather pay the year and a half it takes for me to go on a Disney trip with my broke self and found it a better value and experience when 3 different bartenders while I was sitting down going through a difficult time ask me if I'm okay at different intervals and seeming to genuinely care (yes I know their paid to, but when your upset sometimes its needed) and take time to try to make your day better while having good food, entertainment, and surprisingly quiet and relaxing areas since the kids are at the clubs, then pay for a cheap cruise that had terrible free drinks, horrible dining, made me seasick for the first time, not very clean, and couldn't gamble if I wanted to because of the smoking, and had all their good shows late at night when I am a person who bunkers down around that time their playing as I recharge my social batteries from the day. Sure, I can't cruise as much as I want since Disney is a luxury cruise line, but I feel its worth it. For my great aunt who loves gambling, she'd disagree and that's okay. TDLR: It's okay to disagree. Everyone has different priorities for cruising. Don't attack a youtuber for his opinion especially when its not a direct comparison video and just his pros and cons for trying a different cruiseline that he experienced for the first time.
