What time did you guys film this? Did you go out in the morning? I’m sure cast members refresh lanyards and boards several times throughout the week, but Fridays seem like a sure bet for fresh pins.

We got to WDW around 11am and didn't leave till around 5pm. But it was a Holiday which could make the pins a little better. :)
