Two young men from the Disney world have a lot in common. Mowgli from The Jungle Book (1967) and Christopher Robin from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) are both adolescents with a lot of animal friends. They both journey from a childish world of carefree animal fun to an adult world with human responsibilities.

Both characters were voices by Bruce Reitherman whose father Wolfgang Reitherman directed these and many other animated Disney films. Reitherman senior was having a very difficult time finding a child actor to voice Mowgali and in desperation he auditioned his eleven-year-old son who got great the part. Today Bruce is a nature cinematographer. Here he is as an adult…
