For me, the game is about collecting. For collectors, you try to have a complete collection! I understand everyone’s frustration, that suddenly a few pieces of in-game furniture cost as much as the new Legend of Zelda. It’s not fair.

I don’t use motifs at all. Using them for wallpapers would be cool. I think it would be awesome if we could make custom framed art with the motifs we can hang on the walls. Or maybe rugs?! How awesome would that be 🤩 Also, maybe Wall-E could be utilized to demolish crafted items to get resources back. He could pop the item into his drawer and pop out resources

Excellent idea, but a nightmare to program, but you never know.... I decided to start trying to use all the motifs. I am on switch so not as easy as pc, but so far I did my first mouse ears, top and dress. Nothing to brag about, I have done better in ACNH.

Since the first star path, I already thought it had too many motifs. Now we know why. Everything else is going into the premium shop. The castle skin or any home skin should have been on the star path.

My only complaints are the premium furniture prices are crazy expensive and I don’t like the chest using dreamlight. It would be cool if you could upgrade the chest or combine them to make larger chest so I don’t have a bunch of small I don’t plan on using once I get all the large chest I need

Right! I thought they were going to let us start upgrading our chests to unlock the unuseabke spaces like we did with our inventory... It would make more sense instead of making us craft whole new chests now to upgrade our storage and use up our dreamlight on it. I'm saving dreamlight for opening new biomes and world doors, I really don't want to have to spend it on crafting. I was so disappointed when I saw the new storage upgrades.

I just started playing a month ago and I have so much I have to use dreamlight for that the chest are to expensive. If they divided the dream light by 10 then I would be okay with it. They could have done it where 3 small chest added together make 1 large chest or just let us unlock it like you said.

The fact that the furniture and clothing tab will continue grow as this game gets more content, it means unless you're willing to spend real money to buy items the premium shop, those items will be locked behind a pay wall

I did all Dreamlight Duty´s I could do. I have over 350.000 Dreamlight and could easy craft thousands more! For me, there are 2 things DDLV has to change in the next Update: After playing 5 month I only got 2 Memories from Nightthornes. I removed hundreds this week and only got Coins and Seeds. I still get 1 or maybe 2 new Furniture Items a day. The rest is still the same old stuff...

I don't understand why we can't just upgrade the chests we already have and placed all through out the biomes. It could cost Dreamlight, coins, gold, whatever, but what was the point in giving us chests with 6 rows for storage and only allowing us to use 2 of them?

Decorating is the main reason why I play this game, knowing that I am not gonna have the opportunity to buy the things on the premium shop because of how expensive they are, make me feel like I am never gonna active the full potencial playing this game. It makes me get less excited, makes me lose interest in playing. It is a clear limitation created for my gaming. So I totally gets why people say this is a dealbreaker. They need to bring this moonstones prices to a more realistic range.

Since not everyone is going for every single item in the game or don’t have time to buy endless stuff because they don’t play the game as much…etc… plus some items other people don’t like. Also the moonstone prices aren’t all that bad for starting points at least people aren’t spending $99 on moonstones Since they did the $4.99,$9.99,$19.99&$50 moonstone set options those aren’t bad prices for starting out with plus there’s moonstones in the starpaths and in the moonstone chests that people don’t have to pay for. The prices are at least fair compared to fortnight or other games with higher amounts of money being spent. At least Dreamlight valley kept the prices as low as possible for the moonstone sets since they are all under $99

In my opinion motifs should never take up more than 25% of any starpath. And you should be able to use on walls floors and furniture items as well as clothing to make them more versatile. And those premium store items? 10 bucks for all three sets would be reasonable. Anything more than that isn't reasonable.

For the customization page where you add motifs to clothing, the Devs should add letters and numbers, along with pants and shorts as clothing. I'm really surprised those were never added in past updates.

Maybe a better way to upgrade chests would be slightly increasing the amount of resources necessary to craft small chests and the bigger ones with these recipes: Medium Chest = 2 Small Chests Large Chest = 2 Medium Chests

I actually would prefer something like this in order to consume the small chest in building larger versions, they can even have other materials required for the medium and larger sizes in addition to the smaller versions to keep the grind higher.

i think it comes down to the people who enjoy collecting everything in the game and now since you have to purchase it, it may have deterred them from the game. I will only purchase if i feel it's worth buying.

I like the stuff in the premium shop and would get it, but when I convert to my currency, it's the price of a sims 4 kit with less things in it. And tbh I don't think kits are worth it either.

Honestly medium chests suit me for a lot of storage needs at the moment and while I'd love to go all large, it will be a super slow process at 5000 dreamlight (2500-3500 would be better). My plan is to really just use large for wood/stone/soil/clay .. etc and then I plan on mediums for cooking items and flower storage and still use the smaller storage for misc things. I am also mainly speaking for myself and maybe others who don't usually have a lot of play time to farm all the items due to real life duties.

In my large I got all fruit in one, all veggies in another, all the gems are in 2 med sizes, I used few med for other things, flowers I haven't done yet so idk how I am doing them.

Yeah. The whole "i dont want to play anymore because of the shop." Is silly in my opinion. Like im a completionist, I get it, in collecting type games like poemon and animal crossing. I want to craft, buy, collect, catch all the things. So not having those premium shop items for that reason sucks, but its not a deal breaker. I also am not big into pay to play things through, so you won't ever catch me paying for moonstones that with time I can get myself. And I agree house skins are the only thing besides the star path that I would use moonstones on. which when it comes to the star path, I actually enjoy more for the extra tasks and the items are just a bonus. I actually like that I finally have a use for all the gold I’ve generated trying to get other minerals. It’s the dark wood that I’ve run out of but only because I haven’t been trying to stockpile it. Even still, I was able to make 3 large chests, which is enough for the moment with a few medium chests thrown in. Honestly, with auto transfers and signs, it’s not as big of a deal not to have all the flowers in one chest as it was before auto-transfer. That one function is a game changer.

In my opinion, fair prices in premium shop would be like this: • 50-250 small items • 300-550 medium items • 600-850 large items • 900-1100 really fancy items • 1150-1300 house skins

@PinkOshe:they most likely don’t want you to use all decorations in one day since you have have room for villager houses you can’t place a house down if your item limit exceeds the item limit number on the screen. That’s why I don’t decorate as much and save room for villager houses. Plus the item limit could get upped in a different update later down the road since they have to figure out how to still have room for villager houses and still let us decorate. Other wise we many need more biomes than the ones that we already have in order to decorate more or we may need the black screen between biomes.

@PinkOshe:people aren’t complaining about the item limit because the devs already know about the item problem they just have to figure out the best solution to it before they can fix it. Meaning we are limited to 600 items so we can still have room for Villager houses.

What I think sucks about the premium store is that they have items that are part of star path sets so if you want the whole collection you have to pay more money. Motifs are ok but there are a lot of them. I think we should have got a classic Minnie skin and Steamboat willie Mickey skin instead of the platinum ones. I like the star path overall tho.

I agree with you 100% that we don’t need everything 😅 but people like me who are completionists will definitely want to obtain every single item and sadly financially at those hefty prices I won’t be able to and it breaks my heart - it is just a game but a game I love and I wish premium shop was made affordable for all types of income families not just people who are loaded 😢

Plus you can get moonstones without paying for them since the starpaths offer free moonstones and there’s moonstones in the moonstone chests. Plus at least the highest set of moonstones is at $50 still high but also alot more lower than $99 at least they did the $4.99,$9.99,$19.99 and $50 moonstone set options which isn’t too bad for prices. Plus they most likely aren’t sure how much people will be buying from it yet since some people don’t spend hours in the game buying stuff and they barely play at all because of work hours or because of other reasons

I think people complain too much. If everything was easy, there would be no fun in playing. I love the update, enjoy the new chests and the sorting very much. I am not going to spend money at furniture but that is a choice I have, as long as I can play the game… The Starpath is nice to have some challenge, the items you get are a added bonus. So, I am a happy player and ❤❤❤❤ Olaf!

It takes me hours to gather 25 dark wood because I find more dry wood than I do dark wood and there are only a few there within a few hours each. Plus, Forgotten Lands is such a dark place, they are so easy to miss.

It's very simple, if I want the things in shop and can't afford them (because who can afford $50 every 5 days?) then I'm not likely to play anymore. Imagine going with your friends to eat and you can't afford to buy the food, you have to go hungry while others eat, would you go again? I already stopped playing, not intentionally, but having seen the direction they want to take the game in with that premium shop, I just lost interest, cause I just can't play a game driven by corporate greed. And I was super hyped for Mirabel! But can't even be bothered to get her now. And I am not against paying for games, I actually bought the ultimate edition because I loved this game so much. Pity.

I don't like the shop prices, they aren't fair, but I'm not quitting just not buying from the shop. The problem is this is happening in every aspect of our lives. Corporate American has gone from profit is good to greed is best. The in-game store is just a small example of that. Greed has crept into our Valleys! LoL. Ok, a little dramatic.

i suggest allowing us to craft canvas out of wood and fabric, then, layering colors and motifs to create wall art. I don't know why they just didn't just allow us to purchase more storage in the existing chests, like our personal inventory does.

For the chests I only partly agree with others though I saw a great suggestion, I hate having now 37 chests sitting there doing nothing it would've been a good idea if say we had to use a small chest or 2 to make the med. chest & so on. I do think 5000 dreamlight is bit much when I can make 2 med ones & get 8 rows instead of 6, still would reduce the clutter of chests. The premium shop yep I agree it way overpriced but I am not quitting the game I am just playing for the rest. NOW about black wood how do you get 25? I'm lucky if I get 3 or 4 during each spawn? & yes I pick every single piece of wood up lol. I only play couple hours a day but think the most I ever got in black wood in that times is maybe 10. I could really use more.

Point 1: That castle overlay for the house in the premium shop is awesome, I mean, the most awesome design element in the game... but I can't afford it. And it's not just the premium shop, its the events also. You need 2500 moon coins to play the "premium" star path, too. What a crock. It makes people think that microtransactions were the goal all along. Point 2: I agree. Less motifs, more D100 stuff. Point 3: You have to level up Olaf and Mirabel past their level 4 missions for the feedings to resume. I guess the blizzard affected animals... lol. Other glitches---still getting the PS4 blue screen of death, having Donald as a companion for 60 minutes has time issues, the final Olaf mission kept freezing the game, and a few others.

I am interested in how grouchy people are about how crafting items, especially upgraded storage, requires starlight (a free resource you can easily keep grinding for without any time or monetary limitations) while not being annoyed by a starpath's key items being designated premium, and this requiring moonstones to buy that path. I guess I don't get people who are mad about a game requiring some game play while they're totally cool with paying (more) money as if they haven't already paid a significant amount for the privilege of being their beta testers

I just don't think it's fair that for people like me that paid 80 dlls for this game we still have to spend more money for those premium items. There should be a way to grind for moon stones other than just be limited to getting 50 a day. At least for accounts that supported the game from the beginning and really want to collect all we can.

I find the items are too expensive, especially given that the shop will refresh to new items every 5? days... meaning if you buy everything in the shop every week you will run out of moonstones so quickly! As for motifs I've never cared for clothing/costumes as much as house decorating so yeah, imo there's too many motifs in the star path compared to furniture

Also I think its kinda a shame that the same set that is in the starpath, the rest of that set is premium shop. I might get the castle skin but i don’t like any of the other things enough to spend moonstones on them. We knew they would be implementing micro transactions that require real money. I got the deluxe pack of game when it dropped cause i liked the furniture and extra moonstones. I didn’t like the premium stuff enough to pay more I haven’t done any star paths yet. Its a choice. Now if they demanded real money to unlock biomes to advance in game then I would be mad about that.

Thing is, if they just made the premium shop cheaper more people would be willing to spend money in the game. Feels like Gameloft is shooting themselves in the foot with these prices, if it were a couple bucks per furniture pack it would be easy to justify buying them and the completionist in me would buy the packs even if I didn't love the furniture..

And not everyone likes all the furniture pieces plus some of the furniture items come with like 3 or 4 items so of course prices are gonna be alot more higher to some extent the palace/castle skin for our house is like huge so of course it would be slightly expensive plus there could be lower priced items in the mix as well that players don’t know about yet since the page refreshes like every 4 days or So or basically somehow after a certain point. At least they aren’t making us spend $99 on anything and everything is like under $99 the prices in the shop aren’t that crazy high espeically since there’s moonstones in the blue chests and the starpaths that people are skipping half the time because they don’t have time to play the game to it’s full potential and quitting over the prices of a shop is just plain stupid espeically when people haven’t seen everything that’s in the shop yet and they want everything for free.

Congrats on 10k - also, with them providing increased moonstones from chests, I don't mind the prices, though in part, I'm a sucker for art deco anything..... >.> And yes, bugs happen, its just a fact of coding life - you just do your best and try to have a good QA team to hopefully catch them before release.

Kind of like how the house connected chests only let us do like 2 rows at a time until we maxed it out the devs could still be working on the craftable chests since even the chests in the Dreamlight castle also don’t have all the spots to them either.

One thing that infuriates me after the update is when the green chest finally gave me a blue pouch (clothes), it was just to give me a suit I've bought 1mn before at Scrooge's! How is it still possible to get clothes we already have while it's not even possible to buy a second one in the shop! Or at least, if they really want to do that, they should let us display our clothes, and use them as decorations! Please devs, do something about this!

I believe they did a good job too. I was surprised at the money for moonstars but hopefully they will lowered the price when they realize that the economy is still messed up. I do trust the devs pretty sure they'll reduce the prices for the premium shop. Also uninstalling the game because of the premium shop is a bit too much but maybe people thought this game was going become money hungry like some other games. Can't totally blame them. When it came to feeding the critters bug. On the Disney dreamlight discord page they talked about this issue, and they pointed out that this has worked for SOME. Not all but some. I had the feeding critters issue at first but once I got past the feed the Raccoons quest with Meribele it like fixed that bug or something. Because right after I finished that quest I could feed all the critters in all my biomes again. Once I saw that on the Dreamlight discord I just grinded to that quest with her and it worked for me as well. So hope that helps those that are having that issue. Good luck Valley players.

I am on the Apple computer and I found out this morning I could not feed critters. I had the book to change duties in my inventory so I moved it into a storage bin and after that I was able to feed them again.

Hi Starinsky Thanks for all the great videos. My wife and daughter both got copies of this game on Switch about a month ago. Being a huge fan of ACNH they suggested I get it. While not being a big Disney fan I relented however the game is a free download with my Xbox PC pass so I started playing. That was 3 weeks ago and I’m totally hooked on the game. I got all characters unlocked and at lvl 10, all biomes, and tools upgraded. I don’t wish to put money into the premium stuff but if I really like something I might. The premium stuff dosent stop me from playing or effect my gameplay in anyway.

The monetarization model is just a start indication of what is to come. We already know they are gonna sell new biomes. Pretty quite logical that they will also sell new disney char in future. So no money no new biome. No money no new char. Biome and char are quite different from furniture, clothing outfits or skins. Biome and char impact the 'playability' of the game. It borders on pay-to-win model. Ppl outrage at the premium shop not because of what it is today but what it will turn out in future. I am not surprised at all given this is Disney. Anything that is tagged with Disney is gonna be expensive. It is a cash grab. But I don't blame the company. They just price it according to what customer wanna pay. To max their profit, they will price it at the ceiling level. Its the customers' call. If you don't buy them, the company will get the message and lower the price to an 'acceptable' level. So the call is on the customers' end. I will stay out of spending in the current premium shop as I find the price point at the high end atm. PS: To qualify what I meant by high end pricing, basically the current price for a set of furniture deco or house skin is the cost of a brand new grade AAA PC game. I rather go buy a brand new AAA PC game and get a lot more utility and entertainment out of it than purchasing a simple house skin in Disney Cut-throad valley.

I agree that everyone has become a tad too impatient when it comes to bugs and issues with games. Have patience, write your feedback to the game developers and let them set things right. I agree I’m enjoying the game regardlessly of the premium shop or any game bugs. Do I get annoyed, of course and then I remind myself this is only a game not real life and do a hard reset on myself. I figure the complaint about the pemium shop and getting mad and quitting are from people who have to have everything right away and don't want to pay for it in any form. I love the castle so might get it, it isn't as if I don't have moonstones, I always got them when the star path offered them for their star path coins and opened every chest. I definitely have already gotten my moneys worth in game play from my early access. As to the chests, as I have 2 rooms of chests I don't see a use in getting any if I can't just upgrade, as so far we can't sell them back. I keep hoping the devs will figure out how to do that in a future update without it breaking the game. They after all fixed the respawn of bones and ice,which I needed to hear from our yt community.

I am complaining & I get all the moonstones anywhere I can. Now I haven't played since beginning but I do have like 9000 moonstones right now & could buy the castle but I won't, if you go with real money it will cost me $11, if I tried to buy everything on that page it would cost me $50. But i'd only be able to buy 2 things in that shop right now with the moonstones I have & it would take me 2+ months to save up enough to possibly by another thing, I play daily but 50 moonstones a day will take long time to save up for next item. That is what most are complaining about.

I believe they increased the spawn rate for white sturgeon in Frosted Heights. I had to work so hard before to get the red circles to appear, and now (since the update) I frequently see 2 of them at a time. I'm not sure if this applies to other rare fish or not. Anyone else notice this?

@CharismaticDiablo:not all of them just the madrigal table and certain other ones and that’s mainly only because then people won’t complain about the quest being too short and finishing every thing in a day or two longer quests are a good thing it means you won’t have to worry about finishing everything in a day or two for certain quests. And even then Moana Finishes her task for the madrigal table first,and Anna,Kristoff and Elsa have to fix the table,add a design to it and make chairs for it.

People are quitting the game because with the prices rhe way they are they can't complete the entire everything. People are completionists and they feel like if they can't complete the game it's not worth it. For me I'm hoping the prices come down and I'm going to be doing everything to get free moonstones. I wish they would do like animal crossing does and allow furniture customization. Even on just the plain furniture like the cabinets. You can go in and add a motif to the front of a cabinet or a table cloth to the top of a table or a desk. That would be an excellent use for motifs

@jess951000:use the blue chests and the moonstones in the starpath plus you can even get extra moonstones at the end of the starpath especially if you have a lot of tokens to turn in towards the end of the starpaths. There are ways to get moonstones that you don’t have to pay for. Especially if you have a certain number of moonstones left originally the blue chests go by a lot more faster for getting moonstones.

@Megan McKnight if you get the most expensive star path which gives you the extra tokens to turn it at the end because otherwise there are no extras then actually you lose moonstones. I don't know why everyone thinks you get more. You spent so many moonstones to get those extra tokens and then you get less moonstones back when you spend them. So that doesn't work. The blue chests only give you 100 a day if your able to find both of them and when items are over 3000 moonstones thats insane and there's no way to be able to get everything for free when it's like that.

My only problem with this update if the cost of the premium store I do wish they would cut those prices back quite a bit because they are quite expensive right now. But I'm not going to quit the game over in that's crazy.

I have no problems with the cost of the new chests...you SHOULD have to work for them as you said, not a requirement but a convenience... Gold is way to easy to get and had more then I needed and was selling it all before the update! Motifs should be used for wallpaper, more clothing item options and creating Artwork for you walls AND signposts.

You mentioned bugs in your video. I still have a bug that crashes the game on ps4 system. I reported it several times with the exact error(screenshots) months ago. Its still NOT FIXED!

I had not even calculated the real world cost of the premium ship items, but yes the only thing I bought was the house skin of the castle. I actually like the star path items, except I wish they had made a Walt and Mickey statue like in Disney World. I like the gradient motifs but wish they had done all the princesses as that style. I could do without the face paint items.

Who is buying the premium items for real money? I just started the game after Christmas and was able to get 2 of the sets with what I had left from the end of the Christmas event plus complete the star path. Now I'm grinding star path at level 6 for whatever packs are coming next or the next event. I do not plan on spending real money on this game (besides the original purchase) Do the tasks! I agree the premium items are a bit too expensive though. Except maybe the castle. Two I didn't like so I didn't buy them. Also agree about the motifs but they are cheap so no big deal although more furniture etc would be nice. Maybe more doors/wallpaper/rugs/floors etc. I don't want everything handed to me. What would there to be to do in the game if everything was simple? I like games that last. Why would you want everything done in the first few days? Then wait until spring? Nope. Give me stuff to do even if it's grinding for chests or other things. I have a feeling the ones complaining the loudest are kids. Maybe?

I think the game creators are doing a fantastic job. I play on PC so cannot speak for those on consoles. From my perspective the game is awesome; this update is fun and the improved graphics are so pretty. The problem is with Gameloft/Disney who set the prices for premium shop I assume. Hopefully, they will add more blue chests with some maybe giving 100 moonstones. If we could count on three a day with most having 100 moonstones, it would help a lot along with reducing the price of the items to an affordable amount for most people. If playing the game could grant enough moonstones for everyone to at least earn one of the premium items within two or three days players would be happier I think.

I completely agree the storage needs too be hard to craft, I actually think the quests are rather easy I’d like to have more stitch like quests, they speed through everything then will complain there’s nothing to do. I’ve noticed w games that once I have room for everything and upgrade everything I’m pretty well done, I’m hoping this is a game I’ll be playing for a long time not run through just to run through. I’m impressed w what game loft has done. Let’s just hope they keep it up so we don’t have another animal crossing situation \.

Even playing it suports it and from that point of view I understand them. Plus ya won't ever be able to complete all collections if ya don't buy for cash. They should not add these Items to be part of the whole in game collection list.

I disagree with not being able to use the small chest to aid with upgrading to med or large chest. I think they should be apart of the ingredient to craft them. It’s expensive to use your Dreamlight but that doesn’t bother me as much as having a bunch of small chest now that are pointless when they could be used for helping craft the bigger ones. And that premium shop can go to hell!! Those prices are outrageous. All for spending a lil money to help the game but no way would i at those prices.

well i think its voting with your wallet. by losing an active player due to the premium shop which they dont have to partake in would hopefully help guide them. and as a "whale" i think the prices are absurd and i can almost guarantee its not going to change. gameloft did this before and even with the community complaining and people leaving they just doubled down. the game im talking about is disney magic kingdom its an ios game that was later pushed to pc even now its plagued with "premium" content that you have to buy to make the game playable, which didnt start that way. i hope this time they listen to the community but im not holding my breath and i probably will drop it if they keep going this route. im almost 800 hours in also so i do like this game.

I just hate that I can't use the shared chests outside. I used to keep one in each biome. Now I can only use it inside. Totally useless now.

Apparently, you can't use the dark coloured version of the shared chest outside, but there's also a light coloured version that you can still use outside. No idea if it's a bug and will get be removed, but for now it should work? Only downside is that the only way to get the light coloured version, is for it to pop up in Scrooge's store and then you have to buy it before it shows up in his catalog. But fingers crossed that you already got one?

About the chests... if me playing from day 1, and many others, survived with small chests and custom storage systems, suck it up and just wait for your endgame, I have 95k dreamlight just lying around haha... Also, has anyone figured out how the wood spawn works yet? I have loads, and I mean LOADS of hardwood everywhere, dark wood only in forgotten lands, literally 2 pieces a day, dry wood bit more, but still... is that a new thing or am I just LUCKY

I dislike the simple feature I noticed that we can no longer push the characters. I used to easily push my gardening characters into a fenced area before harvesting, to then release them after I’m done to have them drop everything all at once. But now that I can’t push them into my fence, I have to build a fence around where they stand or try to move and lure them into the fenced area and it’s not as easy anymore lol.

I would have liked to have seen more furniture/ clothing items instead of motifs as well. It is unbalanced IMO. Also, the custom wallpaper would be awesome!

I dud one large chest to replace my three small, went from five total storage, counting my scrooge safe, wich just have my red and golden potion from yeo potato quests and my five festive fish, now I liter only using 3 counting it, my other is medium storage that started in your house from get go
