I am very disappointed in Ancient Gardener in DISNEY Dreamlight Valley, this issue makes it much less useful, please fix Ancient Gardener in DDV! Let's talk about ancient machines.

Just wanted to say that I don't hate Ancient Gardener, and I'm sure for a lot of people this limit won't matter at all, but I also know a lot of people have way bigger gardens, and It is a bit disappointing that this limit exists. I am happy we have this item now, but I feel it's still fair to complain about unnecessary limit:) Also I just spent all day designing a farming setup just to find out in the end it wouldn't work because of this limit, so I'm a bit salty, lol

I decided to turn my whole forgotten lands into a pumpkin farm, I put so much time into growing and harvesting, I hateeee the item limit, especially on switch where it won't let you go past 3k 😭😭 I haven't even gotten the machines yet but I also have a peaceful meadow farm for all other crops and its lay out in rows that are done through 1 button hold I can't imagine what a nightmare farming will be trying to use this

Agree. There are so many limits in this game that are completely unnecessary. My biggest pet peeve is that they won’t let us save space and item count (especially for us switch players) buy having ingredients and flowers stack to 99 the way the other materials do. I have to place double the amount of storage chests. I could easily store all fruit and veg in one large chest, and all fish and seafood in one, but if I want to have 100-200 of each item available so I’m not constantly grinding, I have to use a bunch of chests to do it. Not to mention not having to offload pocket contents as often. It’s just a completely unnecessary, arbitrary choice that they could EASILY change to improve everyone’s quality of play.

I can understand why some would have an issue with the limit, but it doesn't affect me at all. I keep one patch of 99 pumpkins that I pick and replant once a day or whenever I feel like it. So the 4 gardeners is perfect for me. Love the tip about just leaving the ones in the oddball lanes, so thanks for that :) My biggest issue with them is that they don't give you your gardening buddy bonus, so you still have to pick them manually. Whatever, at least it still saves time on seeding and watering. Good enough for me. Honestly, on that note too. I'm not sure why people even need massive farms, am I missing something to spend gold on? I buy out Scrooges shop every day (even stuff I already have) and I still have millions of gold with 0 issue. The cookers are definitely my favorite out of the machines though because, as you stated, you can load up specific recipes with extra ingredients to improve the existing ones and "SET IT AND FORGET IT!" ... anyway. I've never been a fan of standing there doing bulk cooking, so I always just planted pumpkins and sold them as is, but I now sell them as grilled veggie platters with 3x pumpkins used in the recipes. I also don't have to stand there and cook food for myself. Wins all around. The collector... the only use i can ever see for me is to just clean up areas that I've decorated and can't reach the hard to get stuff. I don't feel that the cost of mist on any of these machines is over the top, I am doing an absurd amount of timebending right now though... so we'll see if that stays true once I have mostly finished with gathering all the other things I need for crafting... getting all the mats to make more books of timebending to turn my villagers into timebenders is going to take a while on its own haha.

I feel like 4 per biome because there is 4 different seeds in each biome so one machine per seed per biome. I do have more in my pumpkin farm but I wasn’t thinking about really using it for my pumpkins. I have an area in each biome that I have each seed planted so I was going to use it for those

Another very informative video! I don't mind about the gardener at all; I'm not even gardening at the moment. I'm sitting on 7 million coins with nothing to really spend them on, even after the update and the DLC. The vacuum and the cooker will be very useful though. I just wish we could upgrade the vacuum even more to remove all the junk which spawns over the course of a full day in one go.

For me thats actually fine because i only keep a field of abt 100 at a time lol but ive seen huge ones, maybe for some reason they want to limit how quickly you can gets coins? (idk why though)

Glad to see you are coming around on the Mist cost of machines. Honestly, once you have the hourglass fully upgraded and all the biomes on the Isle unlocked, you will have SO MUCH Mist, you'll be glad it has a use. I see so many people complaining about Mist cost and they have like 300K Dreamlight. I wish we had machines to spend Dreamlight on (other than Big Chests, which took a big bite out of my Dreamlight pool once I crafted a stack to hold all the new Isle resources.)

Its really not bad if you consider you can have 4 of these in every singke bione all simultaneously pushing out pumpkins for you to sell alongside cookers makinh them into meals and it saves so much time in digging planting and picking alone its already 100 times more efficient. Now just have to grind enough mist to set that up in each biome 😭😂

I don't have any of the ancient machines yet. However I have found that if you make pastry cream and fruit with three strawberries it will take your energy bar from all white to all yellow.

I put mine on the outer corners & it works great! There’s no issue with planting or harvesting because it’s all automated 🎉 I totally understand the frustration if you want them in a circle in the middle. 💜 I don’t need massive amounts of gold, so this is perfect for me 😊

The 4 machine limit doesn't matter to me, my largest crop size is 50 x 2 for 100 pumpkins total. I have almost 3 mil I don't need a 200 crop field of pumpkins. What disappoints me is we don't get bonus harvests with our gardening buddies if we harvest from the machine. So I'd really only use it to automatically water my crops

As someone who constantly has no money even with over 130 hours in the game because farming punpkins is SO tedious, this is still a game changer for me. I thought they would JUST water crops automatically. Holy cow I could not be happier they added this, just use it everyday with pumpkins for a bit and you'll have more money than you could ever use. I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY I CAN FINALLY BE RICH

Sucks that there’s limitations but at least it’s still efficient, these babies can turn an hour grind into minutes. ( I was using around 100 crops or less per biome anyways) still wish there wasn’t this notable limitation, my guess it’s for balance purposes, these things are kinda op.

The vacuum makes me want to buy the expansion now. Since Ive started over from the beginning that will make it so much easier to collect and hoard flowers until I unlock beast and get the greenhouse again and it will be good for wood for making chests

I think 4 is fine, after all Dreamlight Valley has always encouraged people to have a lot of smaller farms in each biome then having just one large farm with it's growing bonuses. Right now I only have the cooker which I like as a way to earn passive income to cook pumpkin puff's while I do other things. Vacuum I will get next which will be very good to automatically collect Dark Wood which is hard for me to see. Farming one is my least favorite right now because it's my favorite way to level up people's friendship faster.

Love this video! Very informative before i go grinding to craft these. Any thoughts on crafting time bending manuals to get more buddies? For the life of me, I struggle to find any of the items needed for it, like the pink bow and ores. I wonder if there's an optimal way to farm that kind of stuff, or if it's all just luck.

I don’t farm much now in the game once I made enough money I just have smaller plots for ingredients to cook rather than sell. I have one bigger plot for pumpkins to top up my funds so these will be ideal for me but I can definitely see how it sucks for those who plant huge plots.

What I did with the ancient gardening machines, I just made space for two areas side by side so I just move the machine 1 square over and turn it 180 and you can to double. you can keep doing it if you want and although you have to keep an eye on it, still makes it easier as I just move and move on and let it do the work

I have small fields in each biome and stop every few rows to collect my harvest without having to manually pick them up. They're also probably giving you some to water manually fir dreamlight etc.

Can you do a guide on Timebending and how to farm with it??? I have the hardest time getting any treasures!

With the vacuum I want it to help me pick up dark wood in the forgotten hard to see so dark

They pretty much picked the most painful solution with each of these machines. My solution: 1. Gardening: Create new garden patch objects of various sizes. You can interact with said object to "dig all", "plant all", "water all". Eliminates a lot of hassle, and we don't need unsightly machines around the gardens. 2. Cooking: Add a slider to the existing cooking interface to let us cook multiples. That's all we wanted. Not a new machine where we have to pay mist to cook stuff - I pass on that. 3. Zone Spawns: Not sure what the point of the "Vacuum" ancient machine is. We had asked just for a toggle to turn off spawns in each zone.

im feel dissapointed too. i created a big area in forest of valor to have my fruit trees crops and bushes. i understand i cant move fruit trees and bushes from dlc to old areas so i created a new one in isles for that (and i just keep old and new crops in forest of valor) but now i cant do an automatic big area in forest of valor with ancient gardener? puff sad sad

On the switch I can see the auto-cooker being absolutely brilliant as its so slow loading through the screens so I am just picturing throwing pumpkin puffs/ platters in there and making BANK while I can do more enjoyable stuff

i think there should be a limitation but it should be higher they do everything for you so its easy 4 is to little of a number does that mean that if i have four gardeners i cant have the ancient cooker or vacuum in the same biome cause if that's is the case that would be really stupid

Anyone else have this problem? My house is 6 floors I never upgraded before but right. I’ve I’m wanting to and it’s got it locked saying I need to upgrade my house and there is no option to upgrade my house. I’ve already upgraded max times outside and read people have been able to make 20 floors. This a new glitch? Anyone know how to resolve this in the game?

I prefer doing my farming in front of my home in dreamlight valley where there's thr orginal brown fence is that's where I prefer personally but sometime with the pumpkins in the corner in the forgotten

I would love to know if the Timebending parts have any significance to where they are found. I know having that buddy works but I’m trying to craft the timebending manual and having such a slow time getting them all.

Unfortunately watching this video is making me want to get the DLC just for the Ancient Machines. I also don't care about the limit of 4 gardening machines, because I usually plant the seeds in the biomes that have the corresponding arrow, the cooker sound fun to use , so I don't have to keep clicking the auto cook button, and the vacuum sounds extremely use , because it can clear out night thorns and you still get memories from them. The only downside i have with these ancient machines is that there isn't one for fishing, because I need to collect red algae for an Ursula quest.

Ok i see what yoir saying but the machine will water havest and dig and replant for you so you wouldnt have the problem with running into it when harvesting cause it will do it for you

Dude strawberries are now the go to energy food, 3 will create a 2930 meal and 2 will do 2200-ish and their the most accessible new fruit

I also recommend cooking 3 pumpkins over the puffs, it's about 100 less per pumpkin, but you're also using 3x times less mist so it's more time efficient in that it saves you more time from grinding both coins and mist

Strawberries got nerfed I believe. I noticed that the Spiky Berry Pie and the Basil Berry Salad both give MUCH less stamina than they did yesterday. I don't know if strawberries are still awesome, but they def took a hit.

Harvesting automatically is expensive and doesn't give hangout bonus, so it's not efficient at all

well rip can't water my 320 pumpkins with this in forgotten lands ;-; oh well it is still better then picking them all up planting them water them.. i did it every 3 days or so was really annoying but with this i will make a smaller farm that i can just automate everyday. it will basically be the same.. sad about the gardening bonus not working.. now ive gotta make like 10 villagers into different rolls since it will be useless ;-; i know i can still pick em up manually but why should i.. i usually don't need more then 200k a day to buy everything. i am more sad that i cant automate my plaza farm i have 30 squares of every seed there.. look cool and if i ever need somthing i have it..

@mr star For the highest health bar I found this recipe from probably senpai, 4,432 health for 2 gooseberry,1 milk, 1 sugar! 😊 Also check this out! 😄 pumpkin puffs are not the highest pay off….i just discovered this! 😊 -puffs recipe is 1 cheese, 1 egg & 1 pumpkin, so it’s expensive to make…but it does pay out=$1,489 HOWEVER 😃….. Pineapple salad (5 pineapples) pays out =$2,766! Plus you don’t have to buy expensive ingredients! You’ll find pineapples in eternity isle near the grasslands at goofy stall. I put my travel well there so I can go collect quickly. I hope this is helpful to someone. 🎉🎉

I don't have such huge fields so idc tbh. I am so happy I don't need to water my pumpkins two times a day anymore. Plus I think for Switch players it wouldn't be great if there would be no limit at all. Imagine all the crashes because tons of automatic watering is happening and stuff like that.. I am on PS5 but seeing the Switch players got so many problems just with the new update already is enough to me.

I believe the blue bar is 2000 stamina, the yellow bar is 3000 stamina. I generally try to keep foods on me that have 3k+ stamina so I can completely fill the yellow bar once it is empty. (plus I usually drain a bit of the blue before I get around to eating as well lol) I was using the Ghostly Fish Steak, because it gives 3282 stam -- but with the inclusion of the ancient cookers I make Berry Salad using 2 Gooseberries, and 2 of Blueberries (3205 stam) or Raspberries (3130 stam), and 1 of whatever else is needed to finish. 2 blue, 2 rasp, 1 goose gets you 2855 stam also. I'm sure there are plenty of other things to cook out there that will hit the 3k mark as well, I have tons of ingredients to have fun with yet lol.

No I do not think it's fair. I only do 200 pumpkin fields maximum at a time. I don't feel the need to grow any more pumpkins than that at a time. But, DDV should know better! We should be able to have them water more than what they are giving us. WHY? lol. Unbelievable.

I just use 99 as thats what i can buy in onions. Which cost a bit over 2000. A d you get aprox 12000...so thats ok for me😂

I wonder if it has something to do with game performance and crashes. They may have been trying to prevent people from having 30-40 per biome and really slowing/crashing their game. Honestly, I don't see a major issue with just walking to the next biome, you can still make them pretty close.

Yep, I do the same. Fill up a box next to them with all the things that grow in that biome and then just leave the others planted and grown. I'll probably only use the 4 machines in a single biome on my pumpkin cash crop... at least until I get bored and have a massive amount of materials to craft more gardeners for no reason lol.

Same!! I have my gardens setup as a 4 way walkthrough of 25 plots, so I have 100 plots and 8 gardens. All filled with pumpkins at the moment which net me 1.2M ish each harvest. haha
