@Tia:I think it’s because they don’t have a set number for the decor for this community challenge you just somehow have to more than one of certain items. They most likely didn’t give us a set number for topiary’s,balloons and anything that’s not a ride/attraction.

I just redid my autumn canival/themepark Meadow and replaced the benches and trash cans with the new Disney parks ones. Put down 10 magical recyclers and 10 Magical Ballon Bundles around the park. Along with the Figment Topiary and all 3 rides... So doing my part!

Well I got my Disneyland park set up last night in the meadows. I think it looks great, I just need to mine more stone. I have a shopping and food area on the left. Woody's house and the ferris wheel on the left beach side. Other rides right beach side. I have a outdoor theater in the right corner. That sells ice cream, hot chocolate and popcorn before you go in. Relaxing seating area of nature by the water to rest. I just need to finish up the final touches but I love how it turned out.

We know they are able to track placement of items and a few other metrics because they did several posts I think around Christmas time saying things like this many blah blah blah have been placed in your valley, in this task with Ursula this percent of people chose to steal the paper, etc. So I feel like this is legit. But also I think even if we don't quite get there they will give us the rewards.

I believe you're absolutely right. Community events never fail because it's poor optics. If people were to believe the community of players wasn't large enough to complete a challenge, non-players who are on the fence about playing the game would be hesitant to join, because they'd think the game is failing. By hook or by crook, the players will succeed.

I haven't seen anyone fail these community challenges before but I have seen several companies/games set un-realistic goals. Then when it becomes clear that there's no way the community will reach the goal they reduce the goal so the community can achieve it or do some kinda booster.

@elfkaze:the only time anyone probably most likely fails community challenges is if they don’t have certain items or if the number of stuff is way too high I don’t think Dreamlight valley will have anyone fail since there’s no set number on how of each item that we need for the challenge the rides are pretty much 1 of each of the three rides and the topiaries and balloons and trash cans and recyclers just have to be somehow more than one

@Kirsty Swarbrick: not really the same thing the recycler you get from entering the code in the mailbox and the starpath and you can purchase more of them at scrooges. The trash cans are the rusted cans from the WallE collection at scrooges the game just counts both as options to put out for players since if you don’t have the recyclers you can do the rusted trash cans or you can do both if you have both. just like for topiaries you can do the Dreamlight figment topiary or the craft able jubliant or both topiaries if you want to. It depends on what people have and don’t have to put out.

@@Sopherian no not true the trash cans are the rusted trash cans from wallE’s collection at scrooges and the recyclers are from the starpath. The game just lets players use both of which ever one of the two that players have so if someone doesn’t have recyclers they can use the rusted trash can from the WallE collection at scrooges, or they can use the magical recyclers from the star paths or they do both depending on what items they have and don’t have and the game will still count it either way.

Since the jubliant topiaries are craftable ones and the starpath one is in the starpath.just like people can do either all 3 rides or just one of the Ferris wheel one aka the non premium ride

Not sure if it’s the same thing, but the mobile game I play does that. There is a community goal and even if YOU meet it if it doesn’t meet the community goal we don’t get the reward. It’s always a cute decoration and it makes me so 😠😒. I hope this isn’t the same. 🥺

@thehardtoremember1ws:the goals aren’t that impossible to reach in Dreamlight valley though you just need to 20 magical balloon bundles,the topiaries are doable as well since you can place alot of those,and characters are doable as well,the rides you can choose between one of the three or it can be all 3. The community just got the rewards for the magical balloon bundles just today and the challenge only started like 4 days ago and some of us only did like 10 to 20 magical balloon bundles

@Devin Duran:because there’s only biome for dark wood aka the forgotten lands and the other woods have multiple biomes plus dark wood can only grow in some place like the forgotten lands where it’s super dark enough to grow dark wood they only gave us one biome for dark wood so far which means darkwood isn’t just hard to get it’s the rarest of the 4 woods since it can only grow in dark biomes like the forgotten lands and there’s only one forgotten lands type biome since the glade of trust and the other biomes aren’t dark enough for darkwood to grown in them

@Xander:plus it’s also a better way to use up flowers and empty out chests a lot more faster and easier rather than selling the flowers by themselves and plus you can make really cool items with flowers and certain flowers can even be used to do certain colored chests. It’s actually a better use of flowers in the game anyway crafting the flowers into everything that involves using flowers

I have seen community challenge fail before (by two different companies even), and all they did was that they brought back the prize-items on another event. The thing is, since they showed what the items were we could see it and identify it when it came back, but this one from DDV they are not even showing us what each prize will be, so if one or two of the challenges fails, they can just bring back the items and no one will know if it was or not from this community challenge..... But considering the DDV game is relatively new and that they want to show a strong community, I also doubt they had set impossible challenges.
