6 times to Disney World. Once with my ex-husband and I and ex in laws. A Make a Wish trip with my daughter and family - she had cancer and passed away 10 months after, and multiple trips with our entire family and grandkids, my sister, brother-in-law and niece and nephew. My husband and I aren't much into the wild rides but we love to take our kids and grandkids and watch them have a blast!

We were just there 2 weeks ago. It was my first time; but my son had been there 20 years ago in high school. We were definitely not Disney experts! My lovely DIL purchased matching park themed t-shirts for all of the 5 days we were there, plus special shirts for Be Our Guest. My son spent a lot of time on the Disney site for several months watching for openings and booking reservations for all of the restaurants, events, etc. You have to start planning early if there are certain things you want to experience. He ordered the Magic Bands early enough that we were able to choose them; and they came in a wide array of colors and finishes. We stayed in a Disney resort, so we saw fireworks from somewhere every night! I agree that you could probably wing it and still have a great time; but early planning is necessary for the "popular" experiences.

Some great advice, we have been to Orlando about a dozen times and visited Disney many times. Things seem to have changed a lot in the last 4 years, since we were last there. We found going when the UK children were all at school that’s where we are, and most of the US children were at school also, the easiest time to visit, (when it’s just the hubby and I). Plus getting the fast passes. But listening to you I am thinking it’s all got more complicated. We really enjoy Universal studios and islands of adventure, but I think that’s because we’re older, and of course big Harry Potter fans, which Universal have done absolutely outstandingly. We will be taking grandson number 3 in a year or so, then we have 2 granddaughters growing like weeds we’ll be taking in a few years, so it will be back to the Disney parks for sure. Thank you so much for sharing xxx

I’ve been to Disney 4x. 2 times way back in HS lol. My husband and I went on our Honeymoon back in 2002. And we finally made it back in August 2019 with our 2 teenagers. While they were all great trips, the most recent with the kids was the best. It’s all about the memories! We stayed a week at the All Star Movie resort. You are right, so much easier to stay on the property!

My #1 tip is go to each park for a full day. No park hopping until after you have visited a few times. Animal Kingdom is my favorite park because I love the atmosphere. It feels like you are in a far off land/jungle.

3 times to Disneyworld and 4 times to Disneyland. Stay on site. It is totally worth it. The Fastpasses are great. We would go to less popular in the morning and use fastpass for popular areas. Disney is truly magical.

I have gone to Disney World many times. I have never been able to afford to stay on the property but I would love to. You do get a a lot of perks with doing that. Things have changed a lot since I've been there. I thought Hollywood Studios was a bust. My grandkids agreed so we went to Animal Kingdom. We loved it there! We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time but we took the safari tour was amazing! I'm unable to walk very far so I had to be pushed in a wheelchair. Everything was accessible so that was great! Magic Kingdom will always be my favorite but going to Epcot is great as was great too. The different countries gives you great information about them. It is my favorite place to be.

I live about an hour and a half from Disney. I never go. I went years ago and loved it though. My usual destination if I head over there is Epcot and also Sea World. Sea World is very different now but still fun. My family, cousins, etc. and I love Epcot. They have a flower festival once a year that we always go to also...beautiful and a lot of fun! It sounds like you guys had a fabulous time so I enjoyed hearing about your trip!

I’ve been to DW about 4 times and DL 1 time. I like the Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted House, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. I like walking around and enjoying the atmosphere. I like staying in DW and getting a meal plan. I’ve never had the wristbands (after I went). We had lunch with Cinderella and that was fun. Would love to revisit but my husband isn’t as much of a fan of Disney as I am. Glad y’all had a wonderful trip and hope you can go again soon.

I’ve been around 20 times. A tip for your packages if you stay on the property is the store will deliver it to your resort for you. (or at least they did before Covid). Also the meal plan is a must. You don’t have to deal with money because you have already paid in advance. Also planning is a must. We plan a year in advance and have reservations for meals (and we see characters without waiting in line), have fast passes for the rides with long rides and know what rides to ride first. Download the app so you can see what is going on in the park and see how long the lines are. We usually stay 7-10 days to get the full experience. We also stay in the campground and rent a camper. It is more cost effective and so much stuff to do in the campground. My extended family always goes so there is around 25 of us and we have to plan! We also use a professional Disney planner (I have a friend that is one) Good luck on your next trip!

What a fabulous way to enjoy the full on Disney effect 😍😍😍 I would so love that!
@zannido31253 жыл бұрын
I disagree lol The meal plan is not a must it's a convenience. It is a lot of food and doesn't save you money for that food. You most likely will eat less and spend less then the meal plan. It is convenient because you don't have to budget for that food

You must see Pandora and go on Flight of Passage. It's so awesome! Words can't describe. Also, Satuli Canteen is a must. The food is so delicious. The restaurant is in Pandora. Animal Kingdom also has awesome shows. Right now only Festival of the Lion King has shows but it's so good!

Such a cute video! So glad you had a great first trip even during Elsa! My husband and I are huge Disney fanatics - so much so that we’ve snowbirded in Orlando the past 3 years and are now moving down here ;-). Obviously I could fill your comments section with advice for your next trip, so if you want the advice of a passionate Disney planning expert, let me know! But for now…here’s one thing to add to your crafting list for your next trip: autograph books. One of the biggest things that you can’t do in the parks right now is character meet & greets. When that comes back having an autograph book and a *big* pen is a must for everyone’s park supplies. The standard Disney autograph book that you can pick up in the parks is ‘fine’…but I made my niece a travel scrapbook-style autograph book for her first trip and (according to her), the characters made a *very* big deal about it - to my niece’s great delight!
@lauradi3083 жыл бұрын
Oh, and I wasn’t joking about the big pen. A standard size pen is fine for ‘human’ characters (Peter Pan, the princesses, etc.), but if you’re getting an autograph from Mickey and his friends those pens are miserable to try and write with (think of how hard it is to paint with, say, a toothpick). Having a retractable sharpie (at the smallest) or one of those bigger novelty pens available will make everyone’s experience at a meet & greet go all that much smoother!
@lauradi3083 жыл бұрын
And magic bands? Totally no longer necessary. If your friends went a few years ago I can see why they would have thought they were essential…but things change fast in Disney right now, for better and for worse (sadly). In this case, though - it’s for the better. Disney did a long-overdue software update where all of the functions of the Magic Band can now be done through the Disney Experience app. Magic Bands are now just being sold mostly for collectibles and for people who don’t want to use their phones as their bands in the parks (for whatever reason).

I have never been there and now at my age of 54 and I suffer from Rhumatoid Arthritis and Degenerative Disc Disease in my back I won't be able to go now in this life. But Im glad you got to go, I wish when I was younger I could have went, but then we had young kids. We had 3 boys and I had my oldest at just 16 and his dad and myself got married when I was just about 18. We then went on to have 2 more boys. My oldest and middle son were 3 yrs and 8 months apart. And then we had the last son just 11 months after the middle son. So I was a married women with 3 sons all by the time I was 21. But my hubby and I are still together and have now been married 36 years. So now when we could go we have the time, we have the money but now my health just wont allow me. I told my hubby to go and take the 4 grandkids! Its more fun for the kids any way, I just want to see pics and video's of them having a blast with grandpa!!

I do NOT recommend Be Our Guest. The food is just okay and it WAY too expensive. My family spent $600 just for our meals (no alcohol). The service was bad when we went, too. The castle is worth seeing but the doors are always open so I'd recommend just walking in to see the rooms. Places I recommend; Cinderella's Castle (better alternative to Be Our Guest and you get to actually see princesses), Prime Time, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, Satu'li (quick service), Crystal Palace
