as a black dude myself, I find people calling the song or splash mountain racist to be pretty pathetic. I can understand calling the film itself problematic, but thats where the discussion should end. There are far worse pieces of media out there, so I do not understand the obsession with this one film.

I'll say one better, I love Uncle Remus as a character in Song of the South. Instead of being obedient to the "superior" white woman (Sally), he knowingly disobeyed her orders of not only stop telling Johnny stories, but to stay away from him entirely. This was all to lighten his spirits and tell him stories that teach him moral lessons that he would undoubtedly hold on to for the rest of his life. I will say Aunt Tempy was probably a Mammy stereotype, though.

I'm getting so much nostalgia from riding this on a summer night at Disneyland. it only had a 15-minute wait. Zip-a-dee-doo-dah was playing as we exited the ride soaking wet and laughing. goodbye splash mountain, I'll miss you dearly.
